I'm Australian and I certainly hope not!. It's a cult and I know that they are trying their best to try and recruit here and it's scary . It's just Scientology's pathetic attempt to get some stable footing in Australia. The world honestly doesn't need criminals like them. Like J W's they are only praying on people. Alot of us are onto them from watching the chaos and abuse of human rights in America. It's no surprise to me that they are trying it onn here as well. I know that those 2 fake "religions" are being monitored, our government's wary and watching them very closely and not in a good way. This guy's just another bare bum in the shower.🤣 ❤️🇦🇺

Hubbard studied and knew mind control techniques to "persuade" people to not only work for no pay (and little support) but also persuaded them to pay for their own brainwashing (audits are NOT cheap.) Most cults understand there are quirks built in to the human brain (the designer may call them features) that make humans susceptible to mind control. The only way to combat mind control is to understand how it works. Obviously Hubbard used that knowledge and tax-free status to build a criminal cartel.

members were supposedly kept in the dark, watching tv news/reading news/press/magazines were discouraged /forbidden because they were painted as enemies & subversive liars, but now, anyone with a semi-smartphone can watch YT videos (such as this one) of ex Scientoologists who detail the severe control/intimidation & paranoia that all members have either suspected, heard about or witnessed (to greater or lesser degrees). though Scientoologies real estate empire may be truly massive, their membership is falling in proportion to how much their predation is being brought to light. amen.✅

@@harrymarsee701 Hi Harry, I am not a believer in evil spirits though I can understand why someone might believe. Instead, I think it is all too easy to drift into something that looks mildly interesting and then find yourself caught up in a buzz of activity that feel involving - and then find that you're trapped in something so complex that you can't escape. The big danger is the way that Scientology gets people to confess all their mistakes and then those people feel threatened with great embarrassment if their secrets are revealed.

I just caught this interview, which is excellent. It is 5 years since this interview and I think it’s fair to say that things haven’t gotten any better for Scientology. Leah Remini’s and Mike Rinder’s television show “Scientology: The Aftermath” pretty much blew the lid off of the cult. In fact, with the upcoming trial of celebrity Scientologist Danny Masterson for alleged inappropriate actions taken against a number of women, (euphemisms deliberate on my part), things are likely going to get much worse for Scientology. I still don’t understand how this cult can maintain Church status when so much information is out there regarding its true intent. For example, Cannane states that the U.S. government found files that came right out and explained the cult’s conspiracy to frame Ms.Cooper. That’s a crime. Actual writings by Hubbard wherein he states his true intentions. The cult’s policy of not allowing victims of crime by other cult members to go to the authorities. Isn’t that Obstruction of Justice? Unless I am referencing the way this cult refers to itself, I avoid ever referring to it as the “Church” of Scientology.

I have watched every show and interview that have been on TV to date, and have read Reminis book, as well as the one written by the other gentleman (not Rinder) who barely escaped with his life on a motorcycle the night he "escaped," and I totally agree with you. The word cult doesn't seem strong enough of a term for the tyranny the members seem to live under, and Miscavige needs to be in a jail cell somewhere far far away from innocent human beings who are easily manipulated. I'm still wondering where he had his poor wife's remains buried because there is no way in hell that I believe she is still alive. I suspect when that mystery is solved, a lot of others will also begin to unravel!

The law does not prevent anyone from believing whatever they want to believe. It does however stop a financially driven super rich mega conglomerate organisation from setting up shop in the state and proceeding to take advantage of vulnerable people and fleece them of every last cent they have to their name, force them to then sell any property including the family home and donate the proceeds to Scientology, emotionally, physically and psychologically abuse them to the point of suicide in some cases, or making a bid to "blow" ie flee. The so called COB (Chairman of the Board) David Miscavige is an evil, narcissistic, abusive, violent little pos! This organisation is in no way religious, they do not believe in God, Jesus or any other "deity". Their "god" is money and power.🤑🤑🤑 Check out "Blown For Good: Behind the Iron Curtain of Scientology by Marc Headley as a starting point. They are corrupt to the core and Miscavige is an absolute psychopath 💀

I’m Australian and that’s pretty laughable. You can believe in Scientology and anything you want to, nobody is going to stop you. In fact our high court ruled it as a religion which means in has tax exemption over here which is a pretty unpopular opinion. I myself am not particularly keen on having them not have to pay tax while grifting millions of dollars and destroying the lives of vulnerable people, actively trying to destroy the lives of detractors or those who simply choose to leave, and who basically practice indentured slavery using the org members as free labour among many more pretty abhorrent behaviour. Great interview! Just found this in March 2018. I’ve never been in Scientology but have watched so many videos on KZbin of the strange practices, abuse (both physical, psychological, sexual), how people have died from the abuse (there is a sea org member from FL who died in their care after having a psychological break) & so many other things. Absolutely not with the auditing. Psychologists & psychiatrists have a “patient” / dr. - therapist confidentiality moral compass. It’s quite horrific what it’s said David Miscaviage has said about Tom Cruise’s sex life. This is why Tom is “handled.” Keeping Tom away from mainstream internet is beneficial for Miscaviage.

I believe the only way to get rid of this cult is them losing their status as a "church"... good thing is that they are having a harder time these days recruiting new members.🦋

After listening to this guy it kind of makes you wonder if, the USA had, had it's act together at the first signs of trouble would America have as much trouble as it currently has with the organization? The USA should have taken its lead from AU and NEVER, EVER have given this slease organization tax exempt status. That was the first mistake. The second mistake was in not monitoring more closely, an organization already under scrutiny for 'shady' operations. It's third mistake was allowing itself to be intimidated by the organization higher-ups. For those reading this that may not be aware church members have literally INVADED every aspect of American society -- and not all of it is good. There are 'secret' workers working at IRS (the US Internal Revenue [Tax] Service), law enforcement -- various police units, city offices, an expansive legal network, etc. Basically, at the first sign of trouble the organization as a whole would have known about it at a moment's notice. These are the people that could secretly make paperwork 'disappear' or change the wording on documents. Their secret employees or monitors were the invisible internal link that would be able to act on behalf of and subsequently notify Church hierarchy thereby of iminent trouble, thereby ensuring that the Church was able to not only keep one step ahead of the opponents, but also in some respects to dodge as many bullets as it can. Today church members in America conservatively hovers around 40,000. Now do you see the problem America has? Any ideas on how that nation can put the genie back into the bottle?

I've wondered the same too. But what happens to the money depends on how the church falls- doesn't it. If it just withers away, then I guess much of the money will just accrue, probably overseas and out of the reach of the majority of parishioners. But if the church came down because of legal, political, and tax-related issues- things that affect money, then there may not be much of it left at the end. I've also wondered what would happen to all of that real estate.

Well, Scientology was kicked out of Australia some years ago when I believe Qualified Psychologists here objected to the way they were using psychology. If they had known how they treat children they would've freaked out. They called it a religion to get tax exemptions.

I would like to know that too! I had rented to a young woman in Los Angeles who was originally from Melbourne. She came to me a shredded wreck of a woman who had been enslaved by another woman called Phillipa White. After a short while she was drawn back into PW's web. She continued to share her abuse stories and I also witnessed some. She couldnt get away and continued to be "owned" by PW. Some of the things she did/does are actually criminal. PW was not legal in the USA and likely still isnt. Any info on her?

The decision to ban Scientology was made in Melbourne in 1959. It only ever applied in Victoria. Then it was reversed on appeal and Scientology continued to grow, especially in the 80s and 90s. Since the late 90s it has seen a dramatic decline as the truth about its cult like practices got out. It has very few adherents these days.

There is a connection between scientology and the pancake parlour franchise. Has anyone else seen this? I know this from applying for a job there once, and it was really a scientology recruiting exercise. Many years later, I knew the owner of the Canberra pancake parlour who was/is a scientologist.
@merldog

@@nemesisfornemo4325 Unfortunately not - I knew instantly that the job interview was ify due to them asking me if I would be willing to be audited if I progressed in the application process. I said no - not for a waitressing job! But it was a time of high unemployment (Melbourne 1980s), and a restaurant full of young people like me was answering a job advertisement in the Age newspaper. The atmosphere was competitive as they interviewed us one by one. The Canberra pancake parlour was definitely run by a Scientologist in the 2000s. I love pancakes, but I've steered clear of these restaurants because I think Scientology is a blight on our society.

I don’t think Scientology is going to die. It should have never lived in the first place. But it did. There are still vulnerable gullible people out there. Many people who left Scientology still believe in it they just don’t like how it is currently being managed. If there is a change in management it will grow again. Scientology just needs a new business model. It is still a cult.

In the USA our IRS is itself an extremely criminal scam that's hard to prosecute as such. Flouting that is one of Hubbard's few good points, but that's about institutional corporate business entities given special perks, and used to discriminate against millions with non-institutional personal religions, or functionally equivalent (if not healthier or less insane) personal ethical paths. The other major issue "ordaining clergy" as institutional religious figures does is exemption from licensing requirements to practice Psychology without a state license in most states, in forms very hard to in turn convict for medical malpractice as a very few clergy in other sects have been held. The traditional "free questions" analysis Scientology uses is a fraud, to entice revealing personal info they in turn use for extortion or abusive manipulation into their pyramid scam. I've managed to block one such effort by them when a seriously mentally ill musician and radio personality I knew was targeted, and tried to direct her into other treatment resources (that she ran from -- maybe cult control can help some people, but they're grossly abusive scammers).
