I noticed that in Werner’s last moments in his exchange with mike is identical to his exchange with Walter in season 3 episode 12 when they were going to kill Walter he also asked and begged to talk to Gus to make him understand they made a mistake and they’ll make it up to him while mike knew Gus was having that . The only difference is that Werner’s accepted his fate while Walter ordered the murder of gale to save his and Jesse’s life . Also what’s strange is that Werner Ziegler shares his first name with Werner Heisenberg, the German physicist who was the source of Walter White's alias in Breaking Bad for his infamous name Heisenberg . Also one more thing what's strange is that mike kills a man named werner and is killed by a man named Heisenberg

Interestingly, Jimmy breaking down in his car almost had nothing to do with Chuck dying. Bob Odenkirk stated that he saw that scene as Jimmy McGill suffocating under the final realization that all of his assumptions that he could redeem himself in other people's eyes despite his checkered past led to nothing. In the end, he succumbs to what people see him as: the guy guilty people hire. Odenkirk says that his breakdown was the death throes of Jimmy McGill. Jimmy dies in that scene and something is born in his place: Saul Goodman.

When it comes to law it's not "good vs bad" becusse people do terrible things under the guise of legality and alot of people do good things that the law doesn't want people do like Mlk Jr So this assumption that all people who are charged by the corrupt state are guilty is one sided. Werner's death really upset me for such a minor character. He was a genuinely decent innocent man who just missed his wife and probably didn't grasp the severity of what he was involved in until it was much too late. Honestly I think Jimmy is being sincere in a lot of these moments. Just not to himself. They say the best lies are those that have some truth in them. I think Jimmy has been actually feeling all of these things he brings up in his lies but stuffs them down inside himself. It's not who he wants to be, it's not what he wants to deal with so he bottles it all up. In these moments he channels what he has actually been feeling and lets it out to sell whatever point he wants. When it's done he says it was all an act when in truth it's not. He doesn't want to admit he feels the things he does so he tells himself he's lying to everyone. Sure he's great at making shit up but the best lies have some truth in them.

The amazing thing about this show (and BB) is that it has layers and layers of how to understand characters' personalities. On the surface it makes you think Chuck is the bad guy. But when you think about it, Chuck's conduct had always been good when it comes to respecting the law, and Jimmy had always been a crook. When you think about it, all the negative aspects of Chuck's personality were created by Jimmy's actions actually. For example, Chuck's hypersensitivity to electricity appears to be the response to Jimmy's undeserved popularity, like Chuck's subconsciousness created it to gain attention. And everything else wrong about Chuck seems to be a result of Jimmy's wrongdoing, which goes back to their mother loving Jimmy more, despite Jimmy stealing money from the father. That's why Chuck always felt he was the loser undeservingly. When he grabs that microphone and sigs 'The winner takes it all'... Oh man... Such a great scene!

always found it interesting kristie was "working with elders" when they asked her in the montage. pairs perfectly with jimmy's elder law stint

I love the moment Jimmy tells that girl ‘you make them suffer, cause you don’t matter all that much to them’. He can change his name, he can run away from his feelings and bury them down forever, he can retreat into becoming everything Chuck hated and predicted Jimmy would be, but in the end, those last words from his brother scarred him for life. And you’d almost be forgiven for thinking Jimmy didn’t care at all about that, or Chuck’s death, but there it is. The small reminder that it’s eating him up inside every day until there’s nothing left of him.

I’m really hoping the final scene of this show is Walter White walking into Saul’s office for the first time.

Oh hell no. This show has to be its own show instead of just "the prequel". Personally I think a moment like that would undermine the show in a way. Also, we're still 4-5 years away from the start of Breaking Bad, chronologically wise, and I don't think season 6 is gonna cover that much time.

@@CaptainOfGames Realistically it has to, to finish the Gene story. I doubt they've teased that the entire show to simply resolve it with another season intro, it has to blend with the current timeline at some point, ala Walt and season 5, or the Airplane crash in S2 of BB.
@easilyunamused33323 жыл бұрын
@@mediocreplays8368 no it doesn't. Better Call saul sets jimmy up for doing a risky things. Look at him now, he's a "friend to the cartel". Only thing Gene has to do is say in the black-and-white footage "I got wrapped up with some bad people". The non BB audience may assume it was cartel related. Which is actually perfect. So it set intrigue to go back and watch BB. They will see jimmy pleading for his life, thinking it was Lalo's people.....the cartel...just what the audience assumed.....but nope, no Lalo. Just a 50 year old man with cancer and a young adult who likes to say "bitch". lmfao. Perfect.

Bob acted the shit out of that audit, so i can't blame him. On the other hand the line being "worthy of the name McGill" gave it away for me.

The intro scene to this episode has, in my opinion - the greatest shot in the entire series. Both Chuck and Jimmy lying side by side in the bed, and both their heads are shrouded in total darkness. It's the last shot before the theme song begins. So incredibly powerful.

Probably one of if not my fav episode of bcs or all TV, every scene works so well in both subplots and Bob odenkirks acting actually made me angry that he didn't win an emmy
This show is one of the best things I've ever watched

Of course Chuck’s got a great voice, he was in the band spinal tap, which you have to watch their documentary, and then start down the Christopher Guest, documentaries which he is in, Michael McKean is awesome

Chuck as you know was on the show, Laverne and Shirley and later did the great movie Spinal Tap, where he sang all of his parts.

That shot with Werner walking away is one of the most beautiful in all of television. Masterpiece stuff Ya ain't seen nothing yet!

As usual, they really pulled out the stops for the season finale. The whole scene with Mike and Werner in the desert is so well done but it really hit me hard to see Mike take that massive step into the darkness. Jimmy's scene is just a masterclass in pulling the rug from under the feet of the audience too. Bring on Season 5!

I love the college-student media trio. They add so much ... "up to no good, but fun!" to the show.

Jimmy was definitely not crying over the loss of Chuck. Lol He was crying because he saw himself in the girl the board rejected, and he saw how they would never accept someone like him. Edit: Okay, you realized it a bit later in the episode.

Every time someone is suprised by Chuck (Michael Mckean) having a good voice...I cant help recommending they watch the rockumentry Spinal Tap (1984)
