Thanks so much for these updates, is there any chance you could review the KTC G27P6? Another 27" OLED, but this time from the Chinese manufacturer KTC. I'm curious of the quality as it seems like a good deal considering it has a heatsink and a completely bezelles design, they're also expanding into Europe and US markets.
@AsianLing Жыл бұрын
I also think KTC and other Chinese brands like Red Magic need to be reviewed as they provide mini-led and Oled monitors for a cheaper price but at what cost to performance/stability
@madmatt2024 Жыл бұрын
It probably uses the same LG panel that all of the 27" OLED monitors he's already tested do so what's the point? Unless it's a completely different panel or a dirt cheap price, I don't want to see another OLED review. Not to mention, the KTC G27P6 is almost $900 in the US while the LG 27GR95QE is $850 and the Acer X27U is $800. So, why would you spend more for an almost unknown Chinese brand?
@gibbenjamin Жыл бұрын
Not everyone is from the USA my friend, it's one of the cheapest in Europe. Besides that, these OLED panels and their implementations have varying 100% full field brightness, differing HDR accuracy, unique firmware issues/settings, so I don't understand your point saying they're basically all the same. They really aren't.@@madmatt2024

Every time a firmware update like this comes out for one of these OLED monitors I hope in vain that it brings some improvements to terrible factory calibration/color accuracy and it never happens. I still can't wrap my head around the concept of a premium priced display without at least decent levels of accuracy OOTB. Looking forward to the next year's OLED models to bump up resolutions, refresh rates and, of course, prices even more while still retaining the same terrible accuracy you get by going to AliExpress and blind buying the cheapest gaming monitor you lay your eyes upon. 👌 Thank you for doing these post update revisits!

I never understood why monitors can't just be factory calibrated.
@juanblanco7898 Жыл бұрын
@@Tom_Quixote Cutting the expenses, I guess. Plus it's not that easy as it may seem. And it seems like people generally care A LOT more about refreshrates and resolutions rather than anything color related, let alone accuracy which may not even look good to some. I'm looking for a good display with good image quality and decent input latency for my PS5 and I'm at a complete loss. It's basically nonexistent no matter the price point since I don't consider IPS levels of contrast compatible with the former notion at all. I'm seriously considering getting a ViewSonic VP16 or Asus MQ16AH portable OLED monitor. Trying to look up more info on those but it's scarse. The biggest point of concern is input latency, but no-one seems to even bother with measuring it in that niche.

Hi there, I've been watching a lot of reviews and wanted to thank you guys for all the work you put in. I really like the 1440p space and I was wondering if you think there will the 34" non-oleds that are on par with current 27" 240hz/360hz panels? I had oled burn-in on every single smartphone I had til now and I really don't trust the tech too much. I would really like to try a 34" and the upcoming Asus ticks every box, but it's oled.
@DarkEnigma1115 Жыл бұрын
I've gotten OLED burn-in on several phones as well. Very doubtful we'll be getting any great non-OLED options until Micro-LED gets much cheaper. With a miniscule burn-in risk compared to OLED, it's the ideal panel tech for me. I was forced into getting a Neo G7 for a decent 4k HDR experience, since I view mostly static content with the occasional movie or game. I might just upgrade to the 57" (7680x2160) Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 by its 2nd version.

I got this monitor today and upgraded to the 2.0 firmware. My Auto HDR is working correctly. If I turn HDR "OFF" in Windows, the monitor changes back to SDR and all the SDR settingsrestore to their SDR values. When I turn HDR back "ON" in Windows the monitor changes the settings back to the HDR values and displays HDR. I do NOT need to adjust anything on the panel itself. Thank you for this video. Acer explanation about the AUTO HDR is ridiculous. :'D If they wanted to give simple on/off they should've named the settings on/off. Auto means auto, not on. They probably had on/off/auto originally, but couldn't get auto to work, so they just removed the "on" and left the fancier sounding auto there and made it the on-setting. Big brain moment.
