I haven’t heard this song in decades but it still chokes me up. Can’t even sing it out loud without crying. Geesh it’s been 32 years since my grandma died, and it might as well be 32 seconds when I hear this song. 😢

I used to hear this song since I was a child . I like the song but not much before . Just now when I tried to sing it while reading the lyrics , I just feel so overwhelmed with emotions . You see , I was raised by my grandma when I was just a child because my parents are separated and I live with my mom. My mom works far from our place so she only came to visit me every weekend . My grandma was very strict but I feel so loved. There was a time that she spanked me because I was being naughty and while I was crying she explains to me why she disciplined me . She also said that of all her grandchildren I am her favorite grandchild because I was the first grandchild. When she died I was so sad and everytime I remember her I always cries. Reading the lyrics and trying to sing this song now, it suddenly reminds me of her grandma and it also feels like the lyrics vividly tells my life with my grandma . I really love this song now.

Heard this on the radio again. It still gave me the chills just like the first time I heard it back in the 80s. Back then while listening to the song, I kept imagining and wishing I had the kind of grandma that Diane Reeves described in her song. Flash forward 40 years after I realized that BETTER DAYS IS MY WISE GRANDMA. Listening to the song soothes the souls of people who were born into families that were given the challenge of growing up with problem parents and grandparents - what today's world labels as 'dysfunctional families.' From the bottom of my soul THANK YOU LORD FOR BLESSING DIANE REEVES with this wonderful message! Thank you DIANE REEVES for hearing God's call and making this creation come to life!

I remember grandma with this song. Tears fell whenever I sing this song in the karaoke reminiscing her. She loved me so much. She was bedridden for 11 years. I took care of her most of the time and made her feel special until her last breath right by my side in the emergency room as she was struggling to survive.

This song is such a Beautiful Rendition of me and my Grandmother. Emma Lee (Wright) Yates of Memphis TN who passed away on the morning of September 16th 2022. It was 9:14 am that my cousin and I saw her take her last breath. 😭 It was a unexplainable feeling that hurts sooo bad. But it was comforting to know she was a true believer of Jesus's Christ son of GOD. And that she had a personal relationship with GOD. We will celebrate my Granny life on Saturday, October 1st 2022. As it gets closer I'm finding it hard to say goodbye to someone as Beautiful, kind, and loving as my Granny. I miss her so much.....but we will meet again. 💝

I've been missing my grandma these days. She died on the eve of my birthday 4 years ago. I just wish I could've spent more time with her and treated her even better than I did. Every time I see an elderly that resembled my grandma I wanted to run to them and hug them. When I see a back that looked like my grandma I would tear up. Although she was poor, she was kind and loving. I wish I could've shared my success now with her. I miss her so much.
