I agree with you "mistertopten", I find Regine's vocal prowess incredulous. At one point I thought she wasn't singing and she had a CD playing. Then I saw clips of her concert and that's where you can tell it's not a recording. Regine is a brilliant talent that sings everything from "Jennifer Holiday" (who happens to be the original cast member who played Effie), to Barbra Streisand, and does it effortlessly. A talented vocalist who might have to pass the torch on to Charice someday, sorry.

No that’s not flat that’s a stylistic alternate note that she chose to do instead of singing the original note.

She was doing the version with the glottal affectation ( kinda like the yodeling sound) and to do that you need to sing 2 different notes because the glottal sound occurs in between the 2 notes
