Nice! So what's the *name* of the one you show at 20:51? (That's the ur-version of your proposal, if I'm correct.) Have you given it a catchy name?

For now, I don't have a better name than "early crossover double elimination". (Since the crossover between winners' and loosers' brackets happens earlier than in a traditional double elimination.)

"So, what's the plan this weekend? Double elimination, I guess?" "Rogers." "Ah! Good choice." It'll never catch on until there's a one-or-two-or-three syllable name for it. Hoyle! Robert's Rules! Blake's Hitch! For goodness' sake, "car!" (rather than horseless carriage). At some point, whether cause or effect, "Rhythmic chant extemporized over sampled turntable dance tracks" would have either died or become "hip-hop." So, I give you Rogers. And thanks, Rogers.
