hes not meant to be much older than superman, hes suppose to be a young billionaire who came to success from nothing but his wits and hates that superman is already more of an icon than him. Bryan Cranston is 60 years old. wouldnt make sense.

Cranston would be a good choice, or bringing back Kevin Spacey even though he's working on House of Cards. When I heard Eissenberg, all I though was that he'd have been a good fit if they were still working on that teen drama Smallville.

When I hear cameo I think Hugh Jackman in First Class. A cameo is meant to be brief. And with them being allowed one f-bomb under certificate rules, it was a good use of it and it was funny.

I had a feeling Nick would win. Having him go up against Dan is bound to be an interesting and intense fight. And tbh it didn't matter who won this fight because I feel like Dan & Spencer are great fighters and it'll probably be one of them who wins. I feel like they probably wanted Nick in the final fight though to up the entertainment value. Because on at least 2 fights I felt like Roger or Alicia had the better argument. But regardless I'm excited for this final fight. I hope to see some great topics!

I haven't watched this yet but after looking at the list of fights in disappointed to see so many questions that require a yes or a no answer. I understand that different arguments can be presented for the same answer but I do prefer fights that allow for more choice in response from the contestants. "present your plot for the next ____ movie" usually encourages some interesting answers that really benefit from a lot of thought.

I've watched every movie fight and I look forward to watching it every week. What I feel is the questions with binary answers and choices, I don't feel are very good especially with three people arguing. You end up with either all of them feeling the same (which hasn't happened yet) or two people practically arguing for the same side and one for the other side. I mostly enjoy the open questions where each individual has their own choice and they argue for it. That doesn't have the route of two vs one. I know that even the yes/no or binary questions still has the principle of each arguing for their point. But it gets stale sometimes when you hear two people practically arguing the same thing. Well that's my two cents on that.

Well I think Jesse Eisenberg could be a good Lex Luthor in a way people haven't seen before. A young mastermind behind a growing Lexcorp that is very methodic and straight forward in his arguments. His charisma is peculiar, he's not very good at friendly talk, but he can whip people with cold facts and statistics, which will help a lot when he tries to convince people to go against Superman. I can already see a scene in which he points out the damage in dollars Superman has caused in Metropolis in the time he's been living in town; showing graphics and percentages, impressing people with the facts. It's pretty much like when he played Mark Zuckerberg, on those scenes when he just points out the flaws in the system's security, talking really fast and keeping a straight and intimidating face while doing so. Also, like they mentioned in the video, I can also see him spending his nights on a very high-tec computer hacking Metropolis' databases and easily finding secrets regarding Superman, like his identity and his weakness (which can be a strong point in the film, which can lead to his negotiations with Batman, which is trying to defeat Superman and needs those precious Cryptonites). Anyway, I'm very hyped for this. But in the end we will have to wait for the movie to come out to see.

I would love to see Goonies 2. About several years ago there was a script floating around for it and I remember reading the first few pages talking about what the characters are up to, the death of Mama Fratelli and Sloth, and the start of a new adventure. The wave of nostalgia that swept over me was very intense. And in my opinion, we kinda already got a sequel to Breakfast Club, and that's the Big Chill. Friends come back together and show that their lives aren't really that perfect and they aren't that close anymore. I don't think Schwarzenegger could be taken seriously as a dramatic actor, and it's mainly due to his thick accent. Now this isn't slighting anyone with a thick accent, but they even make fun of Arnold being a dramatic actor in "Last Action Hero" where he's portraying Hamlet. You don't expect him to do grand moments of soliloquy (which a lot of dramas have), you just want him to say a witty one liner and blow something up. I mean, one of his best roles, the first Terminator movie, he barely spoke. And I'm not saying anyone with a thick accent/speech impediment cannot pull off drama. Just look at Stallone. He had that great moment in First Blood, and even though you almost couldn't understand him, he was great.

Alicia nailed the Tom cruise cameo argument. I had no idea it was Tom Cruise playing the part until the very end with his dance sequence in the credits, I don't look at the full cast of a movie before going to see, don't care, just want to see a movie and be surprised as much as possible, with out the spoiler trailers in todays movie world. I love Bill Murray, and Love Zombie land, but Bill Murray was playing Bill Murray, it was nothing new, entertaining, but nothing new and surprising to it, and he wasn't the best part of that movie Roger, the whole movie was freaken awesome. I think most people remember the rules for a zombie apocalypse when Zombie land comes up in a topic, over remembering Bill Murray being Bill Murray in a movie.

I honestly don't get why people like the Swedish version AT ALL. First off, Noomi Rapace played the character as this person with aggressive rage and frustration from the world and played up badassery to laughable levels and came off as a one-note performance. Rooney Mara on the other hand showed both that and this vulnerable side to her character. This warmth that permeates Lisbeth when given the opportunity to do so whenever she was around Blomkvist or things that genuinely made her happy. And that is how you make someome you root for. Someone who can equally fierce and empathetic at the same time. Don't get me started of the Swedish Blomkvist. Terrible actor. Acting was extremely superb from both main and the side characters in the Fincher one and was heavily praised. If it weren't for Streep's The Iron Lady (which didn't deserve an Oscar at all being Oscar-baitey role and fooled a lot of people) Mara would've easily won. Secondly, both films are NOTHING alike once you get past the mystery aspect of the story. Swedish one ignored the whole Wennerstrom plot line and seemed out of character for Blomkvist to appear all the way considering all the stuff he's going through in his life and how he reacts to other people. It didn't even focus on the love at all between Lisbeth and Blomkvist and there was zero chemistry between the two leads. Thirdly, the score elevated the film in heights that I didn't think scores could do at all. This is the type of score that absolutely fits the atmosphere, mood, amd tone of every scene and shot in the film and nothing takes you out of the film. While having these electronic, synth score, one the best pieces of score I've ever listened to 'What If We Could?' was set to perfection to when Lisbeth and Blomkvist have sex for the first time and at the end. Talk about a freakin cinematic moment that will stay with you forever. Fourthly, Fincher expertly set out small meticulous details that the TV movies couldn't even dreamed of filming. Details like Lisbeth taking out the tag of the book from the store, explaining her low metabolism to the police officer, the 'f*ck me, f*ck me, f*ck me' code....so many little details add on to the characters and speak volumes. Fifthly, you have the AMAZING cinematography that changes in between from the cold, harsh reality of the Vagner hiuse in the modern era to the past where everything was bright and charming. No shot was useless and I didn't think any scene could be edited out AT ALL. It won Best Editing for a reason. In conclusion, with all of these things going in for the Fincher version, tell me one thing that the Swedish version gets better than version from the man who brought you Se7en, The Social Network, and Zodiac? *drops mic*

TOTALLY AGREE. Nick Mundy has the taste level of a 10 year old boy and although I agree that the Departed deserved to win the round, I was disappointed to see Alicia saying she prefered the swedish version (while also claiming to be a huge Fincher fan??) Fincher's version was far superior to the original in nearly every way - just a fantastic film all around.
@VenusPrime612
@VenusPrime612 9 жыл бұрын
witchingroom After seeing almost every fight Mundy been in, I can totally agree with your statement about his movie tastes. There's nothing wrong with having films that remind you and bring you back to your inner child. But Mundy's defenses of a film being good always hinge on popcorn escapist value and nothing else. Why can't a good film be dark, gritty, independent, edgy and philosophical ? Even his point about something being as boring as British plays utterly baffled me. I'm 17 years old and seeing him outright saying these things makes me think he's one of those people who look downs upon autuer cinema because it's simply 'boring' and 'depressing'. I was especially disappointed with Alicia considering she's a huge fan of Fincher and didn't see his brilliance on the American version. But oh well, you can't sway everyone can you?

+smokebomb.exe I didn't say it wasn't a popcorn flick, I said it was more than your typical popcorn action flick. All of them, yes even 2Fast2Furious and Tokyo Drift, have an underlying family theme amongst the main characters. That's one of the reasons I love the series. The cars and action brought me into the series 15 years ago. The characters and the actors bond amongst themselves is what keeps me invested as the series continues past where most movie franchises that make it past 3 movies lose my interest. BTW I appreciate this being a discussion than typical YT comment banter.

As a franchise Fast and Furious I think is better than Mission Impossible. Mission Impossible has hit or misses with it's movies but then one incredibly strong hit with Ghost Protocol for stepping up everything and it's story. But while Ghost Protocol is the best film it still recycles the "IMF dissavowed, Ethan in danger/kind of, and they can't get help". Fast and the Furious changes things up enough in each film. First film has Brian as an undercover cop infiltrating Dom's crew. 2Fast is kind of a sequel showing Brian again but discarding the cast of the first movie. TokyoDrift follows a whole new protagonist but then assures it's still a franchise having Dom at the end of the film. From 4-6 the story is connected. the fourth film honestly while it was alright and rather relevant in 2009-for having the Mexican cartel as villains when the cartel crimes were at incredible heights-it's Fast Five which works as a movie. It develops it's characters, has great action scenes, and an actual good plot. 6 while not as good is still much better than prior films. For working as a franchise as a whole and rounding things out it's better than Mission Impossible.

Michael Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor in superman history. What he did on smallville was chilling. He took that character to a new level. I wanted him to be cast so bad for the role. Every time I read something about Lex Luthor I picture Michael as Lex. He also is an appropriate age for the role and can add more to it since his last performance in the series finale of smallville which was one of the reasons it was such an epic finale.

The best Cameo in a movie is Kevin Spacey in Se7en. The whole film is about this cat and mouse chase of this psychotic killer who doesn't how his face till at the last half hour to the end. I still think the discussion about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is weird. To my knowledge that wasn't a remake of the Swedish film but an American adaptation of the original book. Also I think it was a great movie, I really don't get why people would think it's bad. Next to that I also don't get the hatred on Mission Impossible 2. Ofcourse it wasn't a great movie, but with all the over the top action and John Woo's style it still was a really fun action movie. If some of them like the Fast & Furious movies so much, they should aknowledge that M:I 2 wasn't worse than the first four F&F movies.

He is a good actor and i think it really just comes down to how he's written into the movie and wi him playing Luthor you can't have the stereotypical Lex Luthor but instead develop the character to Jesse 2: I'm going to go with Popular Movie Star, he's border line great but I still have to consider him above adverse but not great. He puts asses in seats and that's good but great? I don't think so. 3: I'm going to say Fast and Furious for a lot of the same reasons as Mundy said. I love Mission Impossible 4. But the others I don't particularly care for and they do seem more like stand aliens with the same main character they aren't really linear or connecting besides a couple of names. On the other hand fast and furious does have an overlapping story whether or not all the movies are good or not it has a continued story. 4: I actually feel like the Breakfast Club for the same reasons as Alicia 5: Yes absolutely yes he could maybe not in the lead role but I could see him play a father or grandfather of the main character in a film and put on a convincingly good to great performance. He could play a complete asshole and do it convincingly without hulking out and flexing his muscles. 6: I can't really think of any off the top of my head that I absolutely loved If I sat and thought about it I could probably think of some but I'm not going to. 7: Would I be a bad person for saying Stan Lee in any of his marvel movie appearances. I mean come on it's hilariously written in some times and it's his way of saying yeah I created this and he's basically stroking his own ego which I can appreciate.

Nick Mundy: "The Departed is a parody of a Scorsese movie." That's funny because, as much as I love watching him, Nick is kind of a real-life parody of an 80's action movie fan.

Alicia was by far the best. Nick is a passionate guy, no more. His 'arguments' are weak. He doesn't explain anything. He only says 'it's boring', 'its better' and no more. Alicia always supports in data. She's objective and cool. The judge failed in his choices, al least twice... what a shame...

What did they mean that people didnt like Girl with the dragon tattoo? It more than doubled its budget, is rated highly on IMDB, Rotten tomatoes, and metacritic by audiences and critics alike, nominated for 5 academy awards winning 1 for film editing. Despite Andy making it seem like Roger got crushed, no one really made any good argument against it other than it was a remake of a movie that was already very good

Personally there are two people I would have cast either as Lex Luther, he first being more controversial than the other but he might be able to pull it off which I would like to see if he can and the second being more perfect for the role and he could definitely own the character. Here we go 1. Will Smith 2. Matthew McConaughey

Ultimate dream casting for Lex Luthor would be Daniel Day-Lewis. Hell he's already played the best live action Lex Luthor, Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. That character was every bit Lex Luthor, from using "his" son to fake an image to brutally beating a man to death. Hell Plainview could be a distant relative of Luthors. Day-Lewis would bring the charm and eccentric psychopathy of Luthor like never seen before. Atleast in my opinion

The M:I franchise vs the F&F franchise is not a fair fight and its a wonder Mundy fucked it up and lost it. The Fast franchise is without a doubt the best current (and beloved) action movie franchise on the planet, and that shit isn't even close. It has a loyal rabid fan base that will keep these movies going until the Earth explodes. It's a god damn gold mine and Universal has actually stumbled upon a true cinematic universe. I'm pretty sure a 62 year old Tom Cruise would rather sign up to be in Fast and Furious 13 than bang out a 7th M:I movie. M:I by comparison has pretty much just been a collection of conventional sequels that you can look forward to every 4 to 6 years. Its a franchise that's just kinda been there. It took the franchise 10 years to actually make a good sequel and if it wasn't for the awesomeness of Ghost Protocol we're probably not even having this discussion. In terms of quality the M:I movies are better sure but that's a moot point since the Fast franchise is worth 2 billion despite being an insult to film making. Paramount took to long to tap into the potential of the M:I franchise. By the time a sixth M:I movie comes out Universal will probably be sitting on a franchise that's made them 5 billion.

Alicia is the Best!! She was robbed on the Lex Luther question. Jesse will be a great Lex and he doesn't need to compete against the other Lex performances. Nicks argument of "it will fit the movie but isn't good" is weak. It needs to fit the movie to be good. The most important thing is that it serves the movie. TBH I don't think Mission Impossible or Fast and Furious are that great. Of course Arnold can be a dramatic actor. If all you think about is the AHnold clichés than that your own fault as a fan. I love King Kong Mundys undying love of True Lies. Has he ever won a round from the many times hes brought it up? Stacy Howard was robbed in the Fan contest. Just saying...

tomatodamashi "There is nothing deep about Tom Cruise's performances." Tom is 52 and he is still one of the hardest-working guys in the business and yet he has somehow remained, over all this time, an underrated performer. Watch Magnolia or Eyes Wide Shut or Collateral or The Color of Money or A Few Good Men or Rain Man or Jerry Meguire or Born on the Fourth of July. Just because he's remembered more for action and does his own stunts does not mean that's all he can do.

Oddly enuf, I just tweeted Andy with that same point. Since it's more difficult for one person to have to battle two points of view, I agree that that person shut get 2 points if they win. It also means that the pair will have more at stake if they lose the round. Right now it seems like contestants are too quick to consider teaming up.
