Making something that actually looks unique in a completely rote genre is reason enough to see it. Musical biopics should've died when Walk Hard torn them to shreds, but somehow the cliches lived on. This actually looks new.

I watched it at the cinema and it is simply the GREATEST musical biopic that I've ever ever seen - much better than Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman and Elvis, this movie is entertaining and emotional masterpiece!

In your country if I'm not wrong Robbie wasn't so famous but two songs from him were used in japanese TV during 2002 and/or 2003: "Something Beautiful" was used as ending song in a dorama and "Feel" was used as opening or ending song for F1 Fuji TV broadcasts, at the end "Escapology" was his only studio album entered Oricon charts and his best in 40th position. Well..."Intensive Care" disc also entered Oricon charts but outside top 100

@@Fer-ct9hp I'm a brand new American fan, so what I know about him has come long after the fact. It was his 4-part Netflix docu-series that pushed me to look him up on YT & wowza! I am now obsessed! I believe his record company promoted him in the U.S. a bit around '99 - '01. He had 3 songs that got a little airplay & MTV videos, but none cracked the Top 40. Why, I'll never know because they were awesome (Angels, Millineum & Rock DJ). His only album released here was a compilation of his first 2 in Britain, & amazingly, it was certified Gold. But unless you were seriously into pop music & especially Britpop at that time, you probably wouldn't have heard much about him here. After that, he decided he loved living here anonymously, so he didn't even try. Praying this film will be successful enough to inspire other Americans to seek him out.

What a ride! Wow, just wow!! I didn't see the trailer, so I went all in with no idea what I was getting into and I was literally on a roller coaster of emotions. It's funny though, I only know one Robbie song and that was "Angels." When I found out this was about a real person, I was like "Dang, Robbie is real and he went through all that? Geez, what a tough guy. " I know movies are dramatized for entertainment, but still if he really went through all that, just WOW. I am a bit embarrassed that I don't know more Robbie songs but that one. It's not too late though. 😏
