Better Podcast Volume Levelling: Using the Limiter & Amplify in Audacity

Thank you so much for this video! 2:47 Regarding this, I notice the latest version of Audacity has the possibility to change measuring units from 0 - 1, to dB. Just right click on the meter from the left and select "Linear (dB)". Also, from what I understand, the 0.5 from the default meter is considered -6 dB.

Press Shift + M to show the track menu. Select Waveform (dB) instead of Waveform. You will not have to do trial and error anymore.

This does not apply to the newer versions... There you have no "Wave (db)"... Only "Wave" and "Spectrum"... 😕

There is a setting where i can automatically cut off everything below a chosen dB sound level e.g.-38dB. And I can also choose how quickly it cuts off the audio. So that there is no noise at all when i am not talking. What is the name of this option I cant find in Audacity?

If you use "Wave (db)" view instead of "Wave" view... You get a better view of the audio... And you can then hold the mouse arrow over the audio measure line on the left, and scroll, so you can zoom in...
