@@TTSPerformanceAre we looking at $13.000 sharp for a “safely” finished project or anything else you’d like to add? I’d like to have a safely tuned 350ish hp setup which I can ride daily and want to make it a keeper till the 4th gen comes up whilst covering about 20.000km in total without any issues if possible. On the other hand I am living in Istanbul and have no experience about transportation of motorcycles, what would be the safest/reasonable method if you’ve ever tried in the past. I’d appreciate any suggestions. 🙏✌️

Could you tell us what was the cam setup ? Little tweak from gen3 stock ... Cam lobe centers ? Cams are different gen2/gen3 , but I'd like to know ;)
@TTSPerformance8 ай бұрын
I’m running gen3 cams. I have gone from 106 to 112 LC with little change in performance. They give more midrange than the Gen 2. With no real less in top end. Gen 3 cams have more lift and less duration. Gen 3 valve springs are stronger that gen 2. I make changes every time to try and get more power. I think Akropovic gives more mud than Brock but Brock gives more top end. Our 4-2 SUPERBUSA pipe gave more top end still. I intend to make a much bigger bore pipe to see how much a NA performance pipe restricts power.

I love the supercharged Busa and the things this guy/company does. However, the above comment that claims a supercharged Busa is far superior to a turbocharged setup due to the absence of lag and faultless drivability, is wrong. I have owned a supercharged Gixxer and I currently own a turbo Busa. Even with the turbo lag the Busa will reach peak boost pressure quicker than than the supercharged Busa for many reasons including that the turbo is not restrained by the engine's speed like the supercharger is. In fact (with respect to straight line performance) the Busa's lag (only noticeable in 1st gear) works as a benefit because it acts like it is a form of traction control; otherwise the Busa would not have traction in 1st gear - just like the supercharged Busas this guy builds have traction issues at the start of a drag. Also, here in Australia you can't reliably run a supercharged Gixxer or Busa (motorcycle) and expect the kinds of power figures these guys are quoting. Won't happen, and I know from trying to do it on my supercharged Gixxer and also managing to successfully do it with my turbo Busa. In summer (and autumn/spring) it's too hot to run a supercharged bike because a supercharged bike is always on boost and that means things get hot pretty quickly, and when they get hot you're going to need a bigger air/air or water/air charge cooler than the one these guys fit under the tank. Even with a big dedicated air/air cooler behind the radiator the supercharged bike will still run its boost temperatures too hot to get the peak power out of the supercharged engine. And, when the bike/weather and boost charges get hot (as they do here in Oz) the power figures noticeably drop fast. I have dyno sheets on my turbo Busa showing 440HP on pump gas and it only has a medium sized Garrett turbine/compressor. Basically it is a small turbo (compared to drag turbo Busa's). I know guys getting >600HP on seriously modified/turbod Busa's and I highly doubt a supercharged Busa reaches those types of power figures in summer in Oz. With all that said, I still like the supercharged Busa this guy builds/sells.

Honestly how is this Better than a Turbo aside from lag? Doesn't the supercharger make less power per pound of Boost because of patasitic loses due to spinning that gear box and using engine horsepower to make power. Also How bad is the fuel economy having to constantly turn that gearbox constantly versus a turbo that was originally designed to make an engine more efficient? Please enlighten us curious minds want to understand thank you.
@TTSPerformance9 ай бұрын
You said it! The lag. Plus linear power delivery is just hard to beat. Turbo is unbeatable for drag. But until you ride one of these you don’t know what you’re missing.
@victorfred19929 ай бұрын
i actually do. you sold a kit to my very good friend here in Illinois u.s.a. last year. he honestly doesn't like to ride tts supercharger much it because he constantly needs to fill up his fuel tank so he actually rides one of his other gen 2 nitrous Hayabusa. i was actually shocked and i asked him how bad was it actually on fuel he said he averages about 80 miles between fill ups and the fuel tank is near empty. on turbo bikes during normal everyday riding the fuel Economy is much better as you know as well. i also don't like how the power on the supercharger is one set power level compared to a turbo in which i can regulate my power or boost per gear for better control and progressively. add more power and even use a scramble button for all out power only when needed for the win. i honestly think the supercharger on a Busa is second to a turbo. I've seen the super Busa put down slower numbers than the stock straight from the factory Hayabusa . I don't know I'm not sold on the idea of the supercharger being better overall than a properly sized turbo bike, honestly from what I've seen.
@TTSPerformance8 ай бұрын
I suggest that the tune on your friends bike is way off. Cruising around we get the same economy as stock. It doesn’t need more fuel when it’s not boosting. Power is also adjustable per gear as well on both Gen 2 and 3.
