Man DF just pisses me off because they make empty promises, 5 year teases, blatant copying of competition instead of finishing already ongoing projects..but then when they actually release the figures it's always high quality, full of accessories, at an unbeatable price, true to the source. It's such a roller-coaster with them man. 😂

this is definitely better than the official, especially since I switched out that long red neck peg for a shorter one, now the head sits lower and looks much better and there's no gapping. Also I drilled a hole in the rock and stuck a mezco stand arm in it, works like a charm!

@@BigDeanoReviews Really? I think this is a good alternative now that the SHF version has jumped in price, but I still think the official looks the best. Pants are too shiny and cheap looking on the DF version, and I prefer the proportions of the official too.

I personally didn’t like how they made him ever so slightly skinnier. They basically stretched out the lower legs and that’s how they made it taller. You can clearly see the loss in detail in the mold because of that. The torso I feel like since it’s a recasting of the original mold, it came out slightly smaller in size. If I could kitbash the DF legs and the SH torso… well, we’ll see when I get mine. Tho I agree, buck for buck, this is a killer piece, especially because of the accessories for GT kid Goku.

@@Saiyan1229 So, after finally sitting down and playing around with my copies (and a caliper), I can undoubtedly confirm my initial claims. The Demoniacal Fit IS slimer than the S.H.Figuarts version. Demoniacal Fit’s biceps measure 12.2 mm wide, whereas SHF measures 12.5 mm. Relatively minimal difference here, and honestly barely noticeable, so I’d likely blame the mold reproduction process rather than it being an intentional modification. Forearms have a similar difference in width. However, where we do have a noticeable difference is in the chest and shoulders. Lat to lat, the DF measures 33.6 mm wide, whereas the SHF measures 34.8mm, a 1.2 mm difference between both pieces. Length from top to bottom is the same, so this modification to the width was likely intentional. Same case with the shoulders. SHF’s shoulders measure 15.5 mm in width, whereas DF’s measure 14.7 mm. Almost a full millimeter of difference. The lower legs is where most of the height difference comes from, and its only because they stretched the model on the Z-axis in the lower pants. 26.5 mm on Demoniacal Fit, whereas S.H.Figuarts measures 21.6 mm. And yes, this did cause a loss of detail in the folds and wrinkles of the pants. The original one is much sharper and squary-looking, whereas DF’s is a a lot smoother and round on the edges. They likely applied a smooth modifier (on the 3D model) on the top part of the legs to match. I don’t understand why they couldn’t keep the detail, but it’s probably fault of their 3D scanner. The neck sits just ever so slightly higher on the DF as well, and the double ball peg for the head is also like 0.1 mm longer. All combined, the DF is more or less 5 mm taller, but almost 2 mm thinner on the torso. Legs are interchangeable, so you can pop S.H.F’s torso on the D.F.s legs if you want a taller, thicker Goku, but the color contrast is very noticeable because DF has no paint on the legs. Hairs and faces are also interchangeable. DF’s hair has a better matte finish actually. So, kitbashing these figures is very much possible. I got my copy on AliExpress for about 40 bucks. Banger deal for all the accessories it has, especially if you have GT Goku, but, if I had to choose between one or the other, I’d go for Bandai’s… cuz I like em thicc.

You know, I never noticed the official super saiyan 4 looking strange in a default pose before, but… seeing him standing like that side by side with the df… he looks more like a bootleg that was scaled down. The df just… looks better. If you put the 2 side by side and asked someone with no context or foreknowledge which they thought was the official figuarts ssj4 goku, i get the feeling most would pick the df.

SSJ4 is supposed to be taller than base form as seen on the anime but since GT Trunks's release some people are saying that GT figures are on their own scale that is smaller than Z/Super figures because GT Trunks is shorter thatn BFTF Trunks by a lot.

I doubt it tbh, GT kid Goku is pretty much perfectly scaled as a kid Goku. Its more likely GT Trunks is just scrawny as a result of never training and growing up in a time of peace as opposed to future Trunks.

I’m Super happy with this purchase and I fit the SSJ Goku head sculpt on my Trunk Saiyan Armor figure with a lil rigging up its look Amazing next to my Super Saiyan Vegeta of the same body. Not sure if you already saw in the server but, I got my copy a day ago. Hate to say it, but it was the most disappointed I’ve ever been with a df release. His left leg’s hip socket broke right out of the package, he generally felt pretty stiff and not as quality as I was expecting, couldn’t get his tail on for the life of me, and one of his articulate bits of hair on the back of his head kept falling off the peg. All I can guess is I just got unlucky. Doesn’t change the fact it was an awful experience to deal with. I don’t blame you, even though I largely got it because it looked so good in your review, but gotta be honest, my opinion on df has dipped substantially. Their consistently great qc was one of the few good qualities they had compared to other third parties.

I’m going to try to get another one and see if that one is any better, but I’m still really, really disappointed. This isn’t even the first df figure I had to get a second copy of tbh, but in that case it didn’t even break, and it was purely because of user error that my first copy got messed up. I tried to pull the leg off the wrong way and ended up stressing the plastic. But this case wasn’t my fault, it just broke right out of the package. And I’ve never had that happen before. Not even with any of the *several* Ct toys figures I got recently.

The community might love to shit on DF be ause of their practice of copying other companies' releases or all the renders that go nowhere, but ive never gotten a bad figure from them. They have very good qc, even better than Bandai at times. Ill be swapping out my official for this.
