Can you please make a video like this with hitting the ball with beginner/intermediate who are just learning to hit the ball? How to hit the ball if you can't jump very high. I love your videos and always learning a lot from them. Thank you! Great setting video!

00:03:00 I believe 4 seconds connection with the ball will me most likely judged as catch and throw

I think he meant it figuratively, 2x the contact time

If I get into mastery program, would there be a lot of videos I can watch for beginners and intermediate to increase my skill that I don't have access to, on KZbin?

Are the girls bringing down their elbow or is it their wrist? It so confusing. How long can u hold the ball in setting?

If you wait that long isn’t it a lift?

What's the reason for teaching slower arm movements?
@zanechi2 жыл бұрын
You could see with her speedy movement she was throwing the ball instead of controlling it.
@kevint49502 жыл бұрын
@@zanechi I've seen world class outdoor players having fast setting motions. For example, Melissa Humana-Paredes in this match: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5WxladpfLKjgNU, time=14:30, 16:07, and 16:54 for example. I'm curious, what are the benefits of a much slower setting motion? Maybe less spin? Thx.
@MeepMeep882 жыл бұрын
@@kevint4950 Probably just a starting point to fix double contacts, so yea less spins like you said. And before someone likes to correct, yes.. not all spins means it's a double contact but most of the time with beginners, it's a good indicator.
@ivespoken89022 жыл бұрын
@@kevint4950 it's for control especially for beginners, try to set a top spin serve where the ball comes off the passer with so much spin that if you set it quick it causes a lot of problem/double for instance. To solve this problem you have to let the ball hit your hand perfectly, stops the spin and then you push it off. You are basically letting the ball fall into a pocket who eliminates all spin and then set it ;) at least that's what i think :)

4 seconds is obviously way too long. I wonder what the actual time is that you can get away with before it's a carry. I bet realistically it's less than a second. Before and after the infamous FIVB setting clarification of 2022.
