Correction: Apparently "power posing" has been completely debunked. I was unaware of this when I made the video. While I do not believe this negates the validity of the "what's good for the body is good for the mind" sentiment, there are definitely stronger studies I could have referenced to prove that claim. My apologies.

Honestly the single most important thing for having more energy is having something in your life that you're excited to do. Having something you're looking forward to when you wake up makes a gigantic difference. Unfortunately, having something to be excited about is easier said than done.
@harrisonjohn4301
@harrisonjohn4301 3 жыл бұрын
Dude forsure! I 💯 percent agree with this. I’m not happy (and always tired) either and I just feel like I can’t figure out why. And I’m super introverted so I’ve actually been putting a lot of effort into hanging out with people during the week AND when I don’t feel like it. Even if I don’t have anyone to hang out with I’ll force myself to go outside when I don’t feel like it. Like tomorrow I’m going to go surfing by myself even though I don’t feel like it because I know it’ll make me feel better. But my point is with that I guess is even though you can put in a lot of effort to better your life…you can still feel like it’s missing something or you can still feel unhappy. I’m still not sure why but a BIG one forsure is having something to be excited about weekly or everyday. And it’s hard to find things like that.

This is exactly the answer especially for me, the same mundane slave driving has chipped away at me over the past few years and caught up with me this year and just gave up and now existing. With no goal or anything to look forward to that you truly enjoy and want there is no meaning or motivation. Its even harder trying to figure out what that is or to know what it is but you just cant have it. Im tired all the time and i mean exhausted but cant sleep because i cant shut my mind down and then wake up feeling like complete shit everyday no matter how much sleep i do or don't get. Its insane and shouldn't be so hard to lead or have a decent or mediocre life. Its no wonder people become addicted to drugs and alcohol and things like that. I wish the best to everyone struggling in similar ways and battling with themselves everyday just to survive to exist

Few things I did 1) Fixing my sleep was big deal, I tried to put in 7 - 8 hours of sleep and helped a lot 2) Cut down the sugar, from liquids and drank a lot more water and Isotonic drinks. ( I live in country with warm weather) 3) Increased the height on my hair ( crazy ) but having it in the lowest height made me lean back more and feel lazy , as if Im slouching on the couch 4) Journaling my work and what I do. I always seem to forget what I did the other day so I write down everything I do related to work 5) Cut distractions and work in a cold environment. 6) Cut down on heavy meals and switch to less heavy ones. 7) Workout 6 times a week and take a off day on sunday to meet friends / play video games to destress 8) Do something competitive , I do Sim racing and also powerlifting/ strongman. Accumilate small wins that you can look back on 9) Have a supportive gf ( hardest thing to get for most guys, so I put it at the bottom). 10) Have 2 huge monitors / 1 ultra wide monitor and a good table for your workspace. Combined 64 inches of screen at 4k helps me to organize things on the screen and focus on multiple things .

1) 7 hours may not be enough for some people. Some people who train 6 times a week may need 10 hours of sleep per night. 2) Drinking water in excess can wash electrolytes out. Cutting down all sugars may not be sustainable for people who are trying to limit their fat intake. 3) For some people, actually cutting their hair may help with their depression and increase energy, by virtue of feeling fresh. 4) Good point. 5) Good point. 6) Good point. 7) Good approach. 8) Good point. 9) Excellent point, really hard in practice. 10) This may make you more prone to getting distracted in some cases. Thanks for your insights.

Also, anxiety and depression can cause chronic fatigue, and sometimes people don’t realize they’re suffering from that because they have loads of good ideas and projects they wanna do - maybe feeling motivated too - while their body is actually depleted of energy due to packed up failures and traumas from the past. So, if you’re feeling tired, maybe ask yourself if there are inner unresolved things you put under the mat…. It might be hard, but it’s needed to purge your system from all those blocks and toxins that are currently preventing you from actually having all the energy you need 💪🏻 Take care! X

So true, I used to be chronically tired for more than 10 years and guess what in that time my mental health was as low as it could be. I always tried so much of those tips but I had zero to little results. But since I worked on my mental health 1 year ago, I realized that I’m not super tired all the time. I only wanted to work on my mental health because my depression and anxiety made my life exhausting and hard for 10 years!! I agree but I gotta admit that I immediately thought about how for him as a youtuber, it will be much easier to work around one of the worst problems in that regard: when workplaces and other responsibilities dictate you around, controlling when you wake up in the morning, and what you do throughout most of your awake times. Living according to your genetically predetermined biological clock, going outside for a walk when you want it, amongst other things, is a luxury that many people are sadly unable to experience, and it takes a huge toll on people's health and wellbeing. That's why, although it's all just coming with good intentions, I allways had an issue with all the various tips and suggestions that somehow try to tell people how to solve their issues, without addressing the actual elephant in the room.

The best advice that has worked for me so far is "don't spend so much time aimlessly scrolling social media." You will feel SO much better after you start using internet 'actively' (less shorts and scrolling without intention). You can find information, watch movies, read books, listen to podcasts, find art etc etc as long as it's something you sought out and have to actually focus on. Not to mention you will have time for other things and hobbies too, which you can do now, as you have more energy left.

Tip for everyone not falling asleep due to insomnia: Do not stress about the fact you don't fall asleep. The very nature of stressing (even unconsciously) keeps you from sleeping or staying asleep. Let go. Accept. Emerse yourself into a video, book, audio and forget about sleeping/having to sleep all together. Sleep comes naturally and when the body finally relaxes because your stress is no more, you'll drift off without you even noticing.

I first saw this video on October 20th. At the time I was spending a lot of time in my bed, but never seamed to get rested. I decided to DO all the suggested steps. From October 21st to December 30th my daily routine is this: 1. No coffee after noon time 2. 2 light workout sessions (morning and noon). Just stretching and a bit of abs+pushups 3. No food after 4 pm. As a matter of fact, most of the days I only eat once, at noon. But that's not for everybody 4. I'm in bed by 9.30 pm 5. I wake up at roughly 5.30 am, no alarm needed 6. I'm very energetic and need no break during the day. I can work for 12 hours daily 6-7 days a week. I'm 42 years old. I hope I can keep this up until I'm in my nineties. Great advice from this video. Just do it, don't overthink it. It really works. Great job mate @ Better Ideas

I was doing all the “right” things but I was still exhausted and felt terrible. Turns out I’m diabetic, and most likely had been for a long time before being diagnosed after lab work and checking my sugar like a million times a day (at least I feel like it’s a million times). Also, my vitamin D level was really low. I’d suggest having labs done also, to make sure there’s not an underlying medical issue.

In the wheelchair the same principle would be to move away from the desk and go around the room for a bit. You’d still be moving and that’s more the point. This guy is a GENIUS. All the things he explains here is every advice you'll get in the hospital. I recommend these things: 1. Move more on a daily basis. If you have a hard time turning off social media set a time limit for those apps. The more energy you use throughout daytime, the less you have at night. 2. No digital screens 2 hours before bed. Blue light breaks down melotonin. I have a pill i take at 8 pm that increases my melotonin.. The hospital gave this to me. My body doesnt make it on time anymore because i completely shifted my wake-sleep-cycle. 3. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. If your currently really struggling with your sleeping cycle, then everyday. If this becomes a habit, then you can maybe shift an hour in the weekends. The whole caffeine thing i didnt even know, neither did i get that teached in the hospital. In tea is also caffeine, so ill just quit drinking dark tea in general. Since caffeine also slows down your metabolism. Meaning it takes longer for your body to transform food into energy. Making you have less energy. Everyone thats currently struggling a lot... you'll get there! Work hard and you'll get results. I wish everyone a well being!

About the dark curtain over the windows. Personally I find that a bad idea. I have window roller blinds and I always make sure to open one up before going to sleep, so I can normally wake up the second day. When I wake up at, say, 7 AM, I really don't feel like getting up from my bed if it is all dark and gloomy in the room. But if I see sunlight outside, it gives me motivation and wakes me up easier. I also like to see the moonlight go through my window before going to sleep, rather than a pitch dark room, but that's just my preference. You can always use sleep masks instead, tho.

Little tip if you’re like me and need complete darkness to sleep and also “sunlight” to wake up… I have one of those alarm clocks that wakes you up with what is trying to mimic natural sunlight. I don’t use sound on it, it starts a gradual “sunrise” 30min before you’re supposed to wake up. I’m in the nordics where winters are dark, I usually use it a little during daytime too just to make sure I don’t develop seasonal depression. More expensive than a normal alarm clock but I’ve had mine for over 5yrs and it’s never even needed a bulb change.
