I'm relieved to see the mouth itching, I was afraid my dog had a toothache in addition to major skin itch.

Hi doc. My dog has pododermatitis. We already consulted 2 vets and she has taken antibiotics and we already tried many creams but it didn't cure her. What should be the treatment?

my baby got a vetalog o.5cc (his 20lbs) injection and oral cephalexin 250mg(1wk) as treatment! it lasts him 3months with no symptoms till his next shot. hope this helps! note this will reoccur if you dont stay constant on shots and wiping paws though!

Too bad it's so good damned expensive. Who can afford to spend 300$ a month for their dogs to get cytopoint.

@@dannyking3229 everything I said works. Cytopoint and the hexadene shampoo are a must.

My lab is doing well with the treatment. She does not take pills (only the cytopoint shot every month and the shampoo works excellent)

@@dannyking3229 i spend 2 years with apoquel... but i was afraid that this will be harmful for my labrador. So I tried the cytopoint shot, and the hexadene shampoo. Good lord, it works. She does not take pills anymore. When she has a crisis (wounds, scabs, a lot of itching), my Lab take baths with hexadene shampoo and put a spray with corticosteroid if it is necessary (virbac Cortavance). She is no longer taking pills for about a year ago. Sorry for my bad english. I speak spanish :)

Even my dog is on apoquel since 2 months. Once he stops, the condition worsens.. is this skin condition not curable?

It stopped my dog’s belly rash instantly. She was about 8 & only needed 3 injections in 4 yrs! She’s 15 & only has high BP & arthritis. She used to rub her belly & act like a seal 🦭 while silent barking. Such a sweet rescue from CA in ‘12. She’s 37% Amer Eskie so puffy white. 😍😍😍
