You have to get on before the morning declarations so you’d bet the night before... then no deductions

There are deductions but he’s talking about R4 deductions, which often work out to your advantage. For example if you have two evens joint favs and a 66/1 rag in a three runner race. If one of the favs gets scratched then you’d get a 50p deduction on the price of the other toe runners. So if you back the other fav before the non runner you’ll be getting 1/2 on a horse that should be 1/10
