Bettmeralp The Most Beautiful Hidden Snowy Village In Switzerland 8K

Bettmeralp , Walking on crunchy snow in the most beautiful snowy village in Switzerland , with epic views with surrounding snowy mountain peaks.
Bettmeralp is located on a sun terrace high above the Rhone Valley with a view of the four-thousand-metre-high peaks of the Valais including the Weisshorn, Dom and Matterhorn. The resort has been awarded the "Families Welcome" quality certificate and offers a children's article hire service as well as a children's activity programme. Even the hiking trails have been designed with small children in mind: pushchair-friendly hiking trails are part of what's on offer.
Winter:
The ski region at the foot of the Bettmerhorn is part of the Aletsch ski arena which extends from Riederalp via Bettmeralp all the way to Fiescheralp. The 35 lift facilities provide access to pistes for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. A snow sports school is there to teach adults and children all the right moves. Several smaller lifts in the village area make the resort particularly suitable for children. In Bettmeralp skiers enjoy the benefit of being able to ski right to their doorstep.

Thank you for another beautiful video. I think you should have pointed out that Bettmeralp is largely traffic free. The only access to it for visitors is by taking the cable car up from Betten station on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. This cable car is part of the Swiss public transport system, so I believe that the Swiss travel Pass gives free travel on the line.

I was raised in a state with lots of snow, but never took the opportunity to try it. This beautiful video gives me just a taste of what it would have been like if I would have pursued it. Been there but in summer. Beautiful place for hiking. I can recommend Saas Fee. Go up with the funicular to Eispavillion. Walk the walking route over the glacier to Brittanniahütte and from there the walking route to the funicular station Plattjen. No equipment needed, it’s meant for normal hiking. If it is still possible to walk that route of course. I did it twice about 15 and 20 years ago. You can also use another funicular to Spielboden to see wild marmots. Take some carrot with you and they will almost sit on your lap.

@@TheFlyingDutchMan8K there’s one place you must not have fear of heights. There’s a big rock on the path you have to climb over (If it’s still there). There’s a chain on the rock next to you to get hold of if you need it for support. On the other side is noting for the first 50 or more meters. I haven’t heard of any accidents.

I spent 6 weeks of my life there because my girlfriend loved it……I regret them till today. I hate these places, Bettmeralp, Riederalp. Depressing places if you like Paris, New York, Istanbul, Berlin….dont ever go there if you care for bookstores, cafes, restaurants…
