She has a conversational delivery with bursts of gorgeous emotion in *that* superlative voice. It's her style. Buckley's voice is so beautiful and resonant that people sometimes don't notice how well she calibrates it to the lyric. A totally unique frequency as a performer too. ❤

She's a genius at telling the truth about life when she sings. It's my favorite version.

She is just MAGNIFICENT ! EVEN THESE MANY DECADES LATER, I SAW HER 2 YEARS AGO AT THE SABAN THEATRE IN BEVERLY HILLS AND SHE WAS JUST SUBLIME! I HAD THE HONOR TO MEET HER AFTER THE PERFORMANCE AND WAS IN HEAVEN! A TRUE HIGHLIGHT OF MY LIFE! So I saw her in Hollywood California in I'm getting my act together and taking it on the road in 1981 and I saw it a couple times it was at the Huntington Hartford Theatre which is now long gone, but, I will never forget how wonderful it was to see her on stage! And as hokey at 56 (Me) years old, I think I still am her number one fan, well at least in my own mind!

Betty Buckley has such a beautiful voice. I was born in 1970 so I dont remember Eight Is Enough. I started watching the show on Tubi recently. I just finished season 1. I hear Betty came to the show on season 2 so Im looking to seeing her on the show. I recently found her theatrical performances on KZbin. Betty has such a strong voice at times as well. Im loving her KZbin performances on broadway and other arenas.

Thank you Betty. I saw this show 5 times in L.A. I’m sad she left before they could record her as was done with every other star. CATS was calling. She simply was fantastic and wrapped the audience in love with her voice.

I also saw her 2x at the Huntington Hartford (bringing a friend the 2nd time). In 2019, I had the pleasure of telling her in person how much she moved me then when we had a scene together in AMC's Preacher. She was so gracious!

Thank you thank you for sharing this. Have only ever seen the Donmar performance of this wonderful song. Soooo great to see it around the time she was performing it onstage. Doesn't get any better than this.

She is great. I remember her when she did Eight is Enough. Back in the 80's I think.

Nice. This is the 1st time I ever noticed the "country" influence in her voice, at least way back then. She's from Texas.

She already was a star, had been on 8 is Enough for 4 years, had starred in Tender Mercies.

Quite right, and I saw Gretchen Cryer in the part off Broadway. I wish someone would post Gretchen Cryer's version on youtube. I remember wondering if Jon Cryer, of 2-1/2 Men fame, was related to her, then I did an Internet search and found that he was. I also like Michael Feinstein's version.

I like Michael Feinsteins version that was updated by him when hi finally "came out" the old version was a good beard for him to sing. I saw him perform at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at many years ago and I was crazy for him, not so much in recent years.

Very good. But to hear the definitive version of this song, seek out the brilliant Diane Langton from the Original London cast.

I know I’m a little late in my response, but I actually enjoy the delicacy of this version - she is definitely showing her use and her Texas heritage. I also love her more current versions.. It just shows growth and strength and everything that time brings with it.
