Sorry, Betty, but that was awful. The final note was terrible and the liberties taken with the melody remove it of all its power and beauty.

Quite so. I love Betty, but this has never been a good song for her. Her high G is not stable enough for the final note. It's obvious that she always sang this at an increased tempo to camouflage her difficulty with the range, but it didn't fool anybody (and left her noticeably struggling to keep up).
