Betty Everett's masterpiece in my opinion. This song has a soulful perfection to it that simply gives me goosebumps.

Thanks so much, Soulhawk, for posting this gorgeous record by Betty Everett, originally released on ABC 45-10919 in April of 1967, her third single for the label after leaving Vee-Jay in the first half of 1966!

Have mercy! Another songstress has died. On today, August 21, 2022, this is the first day I heard this song. I fell in love with it when I played it 4 times. Now, I see that Betty Jean Everett has died?? This is a dire shame! 😢

The shoop shoop song, it's in his kiss, was a very big hit for betty in the early 1960s.

This should be in my collection! The production sounds like Curtis Mayfield or Johnny Pate's handy work.
@captainkeyboard10072 жыл бұрын
Not only this recording should be in your collection; it should be in every urban contemporary and oldies radio station turntable or tape cartridge deck or compact disc deck, or MP3 file, that plays soul and rhythm-and-blues music. 🎵🎶
@fredicagoillanoise13092 жыл бұрын
By the ABC Records conmection, it's a great possibility Johnny Pate did do something with this tune. Johnny Pate did a lot of production and arrangement work with artists on ABC such as The Mighty Marvelows, BB King and The Trends and of course The Impressions.
