My mom lived in NYC in the mid 1950s. I was looking through her album and saw a photo of a very handsome man. I asked her who that was, and she said her boyfriend, Betty Grable's brother! He had hardly known my mom long and Betty bought her a beautiful Japanese tea set! She was a sweet, generous woman.

Not me Young Lady. My skin is naturally oily and has to be scrubbed with soap. Also while in the orphanage we had very strict daily inspections, daily shower, clean uniforms etc. Women of that time were so gorgeous weren't they?

I don't use soap on my face either. I just turned 50 and I luckily have good skin. I do use micellar water, then I use oatmeal lotion that is water based. Rinsing with hot then cold water, opens the pours, then closes them. Betty Grable's kindness and beauty, reminds me of Ginger Rogers.

3:33 I don't always use soap to wash my face. In fact, I think I'm like 80/20. Lol i'm tired of putting a bunch of chemicals on my face and not knowing what I'm putting on it. Seems worse than just using water and a cotton swab.

I actually use to do exactly that growing up (I got excited to know someone else did this), I washing my face with just hot and cold water. I'm 28 now and people believe I'm in highschool or 21. I do add cleanser and other things now but I definitely am proof that it works. Even my mother has done that and I've never seen a pimple on her face and she's 63 now and doesn't even look it.

Betty Grable found and did what worked for her, and yes, I believe there are women out there for whom this beauty regime works, but just like any other thing, this routine won’t work for everybody. I prefer to wash my face with warm or hot water, and every esthetician I talk with, literally cringed! Oh, no!!!! Not warm water! It HAS to be cold! Unless it’s 90F though, I won’t even look at cold water, never mind letting it touch my body! And for me, this routine worked greatly,as it probably will for some people, not all tho. I guess we should search till we find what works, and stick to it.

I loved Betty Grable. I saw many of her movies on TV. My faves were The Shocking Miss Pilgrim and I Wake up Screaming. In Miss Pilgrim she played one of the first typists in a time when women rarely worked outside the home. It was sweet. I Wake Up Screaming was a murder mystery with Victor Mature (one of my favorite actors). 💟💖💞💕

My face and skin is too dry so i do use soap but am careful type of soap i normally use irish spring dove garlic charcoal shea butter apricot (sometimes those are last 2 are in scrub😂❤) and turmeric soap 🧼 so good 👍 😊 with cold water 💧 😊 i love food too 😅am slim 5ft2 i also don't care about carbs (i hardly gain weight tho because i have a fast metabolism) so my mom thinks am an alien 😅i love pasta rice bread saucy meats 🍖 am Jamaican its in me 😅love betty 💓💓💓i would also say Robert dinero or al pacino harrison ford or tom cruise etc so many were leading in the 90s❤

Esthetician here I wash face once a week and the reason being most acne and or impurities in skin happen when the skins barrier function breaks down …but when I do wash I always use microbenziol wash and I am almost 40 and look a lot younger but I do my best to take care of skin and love squalane …

Once I started developing skin cancer (grew up with a fair completion on Florida beaches), doctors took me off all petroleum based products. I use olive oil soap (Kiss My Face is great), and either argan oil or shea butter as moisturizer for the face. I add a high grade frankincense oil. Almond or coconut oil for the body.
