For many years as I was watching my all time favorite #1 show I then found out the talent Bob Mackie. He designed 50 outfits for each show x how many weeks x 11 years that was over 10,000!

Betty & Martha are excellent here with Carol especially and love the little extra looks & jesters they all acted uppon. This is one if not the funniest "As The Stomach Turns" episodes! I can't stop laughing at almost every line of script, YES I was "sitting down..." too, but stood to applaud, BRAVO Indeed!! Wish today's TV shows had even 1/2 the pure clean professional comedy Carol provided back then!! Cheers!!

Like finding 1968 in a time capsule. Love the bright colors that the women wore. I haven't watched the other episodes from this season but it seems that the show was appealing to an older demographic. The best parts of the careers of Martha Raye and Betty Grable were over 20 years earlier.

Whoever the cartoonist that created that opening cartoon of Carol Burnett, the one where she exits with the bucket on her head deserves a lot of credit. He really captures Carol Burnett's nuances with exquisite humor. I marvel at that. There is no indication on Wikipedia of who that cartoonist is.

We need more people like Raye. Politically, Raye was conservative, affirming her political views by informing an interviewer in 1984, "I believe in the constitution, strength in national defense, limited government, individual freedom, and personal responsibility. They reinforce the resolve the United States is the greatest country in the world and we can all be eternally grateful to our founding fathers for the beautiful legacy they left us

The audience Q&A is already wasted time; having her enter and acknowledge applause would only add to that. I don't care how many people like the Q&A; more times than not, it's tedious, repetitive ("How do I get into show business?"), unfunny and goes nowhere. Please don't tell me, "Well, what about the time..." I said more times than not.

If at all possible, could you please post the full episodes of Season 2 Episode 5 and Season 2 Episode 27? Those are the episodes where Edie Adams was a guest star, and I've been trying to find them, but EVERY version of those episodes that I've been able to find only shows half of the episode and is missing all the parts with Edie. I really want to see her sketches and songs because I'm a HUGE fan of Edie Adams, and I love the Carol Burnett Show so much, and I want to see what kinds of things Carol and Edie did together when she was on the show. If you could somehow find those episodes, that would be so incredible! Thank you!

Carol,as our lovely 🇬🇧 Q.E.ll 🇬🇧 : Great job, and very funny, but may I just point out that that huge ( heavy!) crown is seldom actually worn .😊. For the State Opening of Parliament,yes, but usually , for formal occasions, there is a gorgeous range of tiaras to choose from. .... 😊🇬🇧💕🇬🇧😊

@5:34 There’s this guy.. I don’t think he was doing alright! He either had a headache or .. upset because he Had to attend with somebody. My goodness.. he didn’t look happy for being there AT ALL!! Maybe the show usually started late that people had to wait for like more than 45 minutes until all were there and ready to open the curtains! Gotta watch him again… oh, you poor thing!! 😅

Martha Raye and Betty Grable are the same age, both from 1916. Garble died 5 years later though, in 1973. And Raye in 1994. You'd think Grable looks healthier en fitter in 1968.... but nothing less far from the truth ....

In Carrol's early shows she had some great stars, in the last few yrs it was all Tim Conway, who wasn't that good and who was constantly upstaging Carol and Harvey.

The Carol Burnett show did not age well ! Most of the comedy is cheap ! I grew up watching it and when I watch it now most of it is poor ! Two and a half men or Seinfeld are miles better ! Let’s be honest !
