The neglected 3 children immediately made me think of the funeral scene in the anti hero music video

EXACTLY!! And, is My Tears Ricochet a parallel between Taylor’s stolen music & Edith’s sad life,(Rebekah & William’s only child together)?

I love your videos so much! I first found you when I looked up “folklore love triangle explained” and you had the best explanation! Keep up the great work! Your the best Taylor Swift theorist. Do you think you will branch out to other albums?

Happy to have you 😄 I'm definitely MOSTLY a folklore girlie, but I may branch out from time to time and do lyrical analysis on other work from Taylor, sure! I'm also really interested in evermore because it also connects!

Yes, yes yes! I heard it was about "Rebecca", the novel. It was a good read, but a distraction from the actual Rebekah. I think you have got it right. Great sleuthing!

Thank you! About BlueBlood, I did some research and found it available in a university library that's open to students only. So i bribed my student friend to check it out for the semester in her name and then give it to me 😭 I plan to make some book reviews of it on my tiktok (@thefolkloretheorist) pretty shortly, and then a big long video on it on my youtube eventually. So if you can't find a copy, just stay tuned, and I can share some bits with you! It's totally allowed because it's for commentary and education purposes which counts as Fair Use lol!

For anyone's wondering... I'm this Morgan and I had a wonderful time ruining everything B) Not really. To be honest... *dramatic music change* Your integrity makes me seem small You paint dreamscapes on the wall I joke about fanfictions It's like I'm wasting your honor BUT you know that I'd swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches And... *another dramatic music change* I'm still on that tightrope I'm still trying everything to get you laughing at me I'm still a believer but I don't know why I've never been a natural All I do is try, try, try I'm still on that trapeze I'm still trying everything Yeah, that's my take on that XD I actually think that setting the storyline of Betty, Augustine, Inez and James in modern times may be, because: 1) like you said it is a folk tale, facts & fiction blur, and it connects Rebekah to Taylor - that is also my main thought on that. 2) also "folklore" saved Rebekah's reputation, I think not only because Taylor Swift sung about her, but also because songs on "folklore" are so relatable and this album really hits empathy. And I think that modern setting could be also used to show that "hey, Rebekah was a human just like you, she had feelings just like you and if she was born today, you would find that she's not a negative symbol, but a true human-being to whom you would be able to relate in many ways". Like when Taylor was speaking about Augustine that she seems like she's a bad girl, but she's not, she's a truly sensitive person, I think these words can in some way relate to Rebekah too. Because everyone thought of Rebekah as a "bad girl" type, but Taylor showed in her songs, that Rebekah was also Betty, sensitive girl with feelings. I hope it makes sense... Thank you, Amanda, for everything! Happy august official folklore month to you and everyone! :D
