Love your woodwork and designs come to life. I am a home woodworker who loves to make projects for everyday use and larger diy and love seeing yours and others work of such high quality, keeps me trying hard to up my game. Thanks for sharing. I am looking forward to building a large chicken coop once I learn to layout the design using Shapr3d after watching your video demonstrating it. Cheers and keep the videos coming

WhoKnowsWho2 keep in mind this isn’t my full time job...the work took me about 5 weeks plus two weeks off due to an injury (once again, don’t rush lol). I had to make the top tray three times because originally I was going to make the tray plus the base from one piece instead of two pieces glued together. Failed both times

Look at all these high end tools! People just simply can’t afford dental floss like the good old days. I actually watched this with the sound off because I’m with company, but I can’t wait to watch it again and to check out the rest of your videos. I’m sure I could put together something in SketchUp, but I would certainly buy plans or a even just the model if you’re selling something. You also have Shaun Freaking Boyd commenting on your video! How cool is that? Great project and great video.

@DonsWoodies
@DonsWoodies 5 жыл бұрын
Alex, I was about 20 or so when I made my first real piece of furniture. It was a jewelry box for my girlfriend, similar in size to your organizer but a bit taller. Made from solid oak, with drawers similar to what you did with no slides - just wood on wood. My uncle helped me with both the design and manufacture of it. Neither of us had any clue about wood movement. For the life of that box (my ex-wife, now, so I assume she still has it) it was a struggle every season change to get the drawers to slide correctly. I was so happy that the drawers fit snugly and each one was matched to it's place in the box. So clueless. LOL. I see yours have a bit of clearance so that should not be a problem for you. Oh, and yea, plywood bottoms - thumbs up for those!
@BevelishCreations
@BevelishCreations 5 жыл бұрын
Don's Woodies yeah the sponsor wanted everything made from solid wood. I did a lot of research to make sure I covered everything (I hope) so I don’t put out some misinformation out there on the web. I’m glad you told me about the drawers haha, because I was questioning whether wood movement would be a problem on such small pieces for me to leave such large gaps. Hopefully mine will be ok haha
@DonsWoodies
@DonsWoodies 5 жыл бұрын
@@BevelishCreations I think yours will be fine. When I said mine were snug, I mean you wouldn't have been able to fit a piece of paper alongside the drawer. BIG mistake with solid wood. I might have been OK if I had the grain going the correct direction on the draw bottom, but being clueless at that time it wasn't even a thought.
