You know what else I don't get in the car community? With the 2020 Supra everyone is quick to call it a rebadged BMW and hate on it for a collaborated sports car but yet nobody seems to hate on the Vantage calling it a rebadged Mercedes double standard much? 😂

The losers that place the supra, skyline, Sylvia, and 180/240 SX on a pedestal are the worst. They feel like those cars are special for some reason. But there is a difference. Aston Martin is a much smaller company than Toyota or MB. So AM (a tiny company) having MB make the engine for them is a lot more forgivable than Toyota (a huge company) having BMW make their engine. Also, Toyota outsourced pretty much the entire supra to BMW, where AM only has the MB engine/computer, but the rest is all AM. Toyota is a huge company that doesn't need BMW to design and produce the entire car for them.

@@xenonram the engine and computer are the only parts from MB? Lol. The entire interior is completely sourced by MB. The materials are identical and they even have the same MB scent to the interior. AM engineered the exterior however the interior, ECU, power plant and transmission are all MB. The entire car is sourced from the same parts bin as the AMG GT just as you're claiming the A90 is from BMW. The same amount of work went into their own chassis as what Aston put into their chassis as well. The A90 even handles differently than its counterpart. I work for Aston Martin North Scottsdale and I can tell you underneath someone could easily state it's just a rebadged AMG GT but on the track and normal road conditions they are two completely different cars. Why do you think it's taken so long for the MT to be available from AM? Because MB doesnt over a MT. It's the same exact concept no matter how you attempt to justify it. In order for AM to continue to have these cars exist they had to turn to MB even though the reliability is still questionable. The difference is AMs existence depends on this change and the sales are still falling.

Toyota did that already with the LFA investing so much money into the car to the point money was lost upon each unit of that car sold. Cost of production out weighing the profit over a long period of time equals bankruptcy. Clearly you are not a businessman. You want to please the 1% with a sports car but need to be smart from a business aspect. The car did not need to exist for the brand to be successful. You say Toyota did not have to go to another company to have an engine manufactured they absolutely did to insure the success of this vehicle and avoid a fate in North America than the A80 did. If a V6 was utilized from a Lexus then everyone would have complained about it not being true to the origin just as they did with the R35 and the Z33. You know what else is funny I've never once heard anyone complain that the 86 is just a Subaru. It's all just a bunch of disappointed fan boys and speculation.

Being able to make someone's day but driving around and sharing them with the people who appreciate them is the best experience about them. Modern day cars put all of these to shame with the advancement of automotive technology. But I challenge you to tell me what other car from 1993 could I have bought where I could make my current 702whp on a stock bottom end with a trans that's bulletproof well above 800ft lbs from the factory that could be built for less than 8k like I did on my current set up. The BNR34....well at least the transmission is bullet proof. Overrated by fan boys yes but claiming these cars are not special is purely stupid as the 90s was the golden era for Japanese cars not even for just the ones you named off but the Chaser, Mark II, Crown, Cresta, Laurel, Cefiro, Evo, Impreza, GTO, Soarer, NSX, ITR, CTR, Legacy, Century etc. Trying to take away from that based on you being sour that other people liking these cars is ignorance at its finest. All these cars are absolutely special and the market seems to agree.

First Parker bought too many cars, then DDE, Stradman is feeling the crunch (and he still lives in a rental with a roommate, LOL), and Shmee will be getting >$300k worth of 6 new cars in the second half of 2019. They're not making enough to sustain that much buying. None of them are buying these cars, most are leases, but some are financed. And financing all those cars isn't going to work out. They'll get a bunch of new cars, all at once, then when the kids start to get tired of those cars in a couple months, they won't have the money to buy another bunch of new cars.
