Why would Brenda not expect Stuart to have prenup? I'm sure his Dad made sure she would sign one. Stuart was engaged to a 19 year old college freshman who he has known for a couple of weeks. And the Carson Family were worth seemingly hundreds of millions. Not getting a preunup would be extremely reckless.

Prenups actually do make sense if there are assets to protect. The problem is when someone signs any kind of contract without reading it first, especially without their own lawyer to review it and explain it. Prenups can protect you but also mess you over. When I was young and my then fiance and I getting married, we were both poor so there was no need for a prenup. Now though, I have more assets and stand to lose much more in a divorce, I'd definitely get a prenup.

I got married last year and it was perfectly romantic and didn't have anything to do with money. This is a fictional show SET IN BEVERLY HILLS. I’ve been married for 7 years now, we didn’t sign prenup, but we discussed it. Having similar assets and similar salaries it didn’t make sense then. If my husband had wanted to do it, I would have signed it. I am very lucky to have loving husband, he’s my best friend. However, marriage is kind of business relationship, the couple usually makes money and major life decisions togheter. Nowadays prenup should be considered normal. When it is consulted with lawyers, it protects both sides and nobody should feel offended that their future husband/wife wants them to sign it.
