About Beware:
Beware is currently in early development. At the base, it's an open-world driving simulation where the player embarks on a long journey of information-gathering through exploration. One of the gameplay elements are intense, 70's movies style, car chases with challenging AI opponents. There are stealth element too where you can avoid being detected and explore the world undisturbed.

I assumed they were actually based on a Leshovik, another Russian figure. They take the form of an old man, and play tricks in the forest. Their favourite trick is to make people lose their way in the forest. Maybe the Baba Yaga and Leshy are working together in this case. The Leshy loses people in the forest so the Baba Yaga can eat them.

Yes, but she has her own generator, disconnected from the main power grid. What would benefit the main antagonists of the game by shutting off the lights? They are the only ones with access to the facility (other than glitching through a chain link gate with a car) and probably access to substations inside the power plant. If they just wanted the section where thegranny lives off or something like that, they wouldn't need to flip the main breaker, they could turn off different sections. So, the question stands; why turn iff all the lights if you weren't trying to hide something?

You're just cranking yourself up. Baba Jaga is a really old folktale. She was basically a witch that lived in the woods and ate children who got lost or ran away from home. She's nice in some tales, but for the most part she's evil and all that. Usually portraited as a really old lady, so the pics are an exaggeration. Either way I really enjoyed the video. Good luck on finding the answear to the mysteries of this game.

But originally she was a good character that helped strengthen the kids, not eat them. Blame Russian orthodox ch.. they distorted all of the older Slavic myths and tales to make some of the characters evil, and some changed and added them into their tales..

Actually, Baba Yaga isn't only negative character. She had a positive role in some tales (she taught/gave something to our hero usually)

Interesting to note that the setting seems to be in Eastern Europe, in either areas of the former USSR or Yugoslavia or anywhere with previous Soviet influence. You can tell by the brutalist style architecture on the apartment buildings and Eastern European style cars. Also note that the old lady is wearing a traditional Russian style head scarf. I can't speak on the behalf of the English text we've seen on gas stations before, but the location seems to almost certainly in Russia or somewhere Russia has had influence before, which would make sense for the references or involvement of the Baba Yaga that the game seems to portray, seeing as how Russia and many of its' neighboring nations are Slavic.
