The only reason satan was able to harm Job, was because God gave satan consent to take from Job everything, Job’s family, possessions, and his health, to temp Job. For exactly that reason, what you said. Why is there so much about satan, and why is everything so negative. Satan is happy to hear people trying to downplay the horror and destruction he has laid upon this world. His plan, is to destroy you. His ultimate plan is to kill you. What Grace is trying to do is keep us informed and ahead of the deceivers tactics. So yes, it is a bit of doom and gloom but know that isn't God pulling the shade, it's satan. And with signs indicating that our King is about to return, I think that things are only going to get worse. The apostle Paul wrote a warning for the church: “The time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3).

They will seen like they are helping you, but they are a distraction, a trap from Satan to think you need this. Call out to God, He will tell you what to get rid of on your life.
