when I was 7, mum took us to a cat rescue and let us pick out a kitty. we adopted 2 black kittens, mordred + galahad (mum had a thing for arthurian legend). People would always say black cats were unlucky but mum would say "lucky for some" + would wink. the illness thing, my gran would say similar. But I'm watching this whilst my eldest cat is trying to get my attention by yowling downstairs. I'm not falling for it 😂 Sadly we lost a cat last year, dad buried him next to a Hawthorn tree + that's raised some interesting situations since 👀 I joke about giving the fair folk a kitty but also with a nervous undertone 😂 The king of the cats.......there's a scene in the musical Cats, that portrays something similar, that was interesting.

The cat king (and/or captain) was reference in a few entries on duchas.ie - was really interesting. I need to dive into it more for sure!
