X feels like a refined collage of everything that made Beyblade so fun and great to begin with. I liked Burst, but it had A LOT of problems. X just works, it's nicely balanced with both casual and competetive crowds in mind. I just hope similar problems don't creep into X eventually like weight creep, at least to same extent as Burst.

Not just weight creep, god bless that X also dont ended up being driver (Bit for X this case) creep as well. The level of ridiculous of driver creep in DB/BU just scream "Wtf TT think?!"

​@@danmakuusou9348 Yeah drivers became a huge problem in Burst. Attack? Xtreme'. Spamina and defence? Oops all Bearing Drift or Bearing'! I'd count it as general power creep though, once Burst got into that "everything needs to bigger, heavier and generally more extragavant in design" your last Beys just kinda became obsolete in comparison with couple of exceptions (which would also get dwarfed not too long after). Not to mention how insanely confusing all the different systems can be, DB/BU designs especially.

As much i love Burst era, I hate that after GT any gimmick or parts of previous eras just became totally useless by Sparking and DB/BU. Imagine you are active at the peak of GT, only for all the layer weights you collected became totally worthless afterward. Then the same for Chasis in Sparking after DB/BU Yes we can argue that its the same back when HMS and Zero G Beys were introduced. But before HMS Beys got overly powercreep, your old plastic Beys still able fight equal foot with them and as much i like HMS Beys, plastic Beys still the more dominent competition format of Bakuten Shoot Sure, Zero G's Synchronize is outright ridiculous, but MF and 4D era Beys still not complete worthless as they can still be play against the Zero G Beys, not mention you dont need to stock up on new track and tips for them But post GT eras? Yea, i agree that layer weights are just GT's gimmick and so its forgivable in someways. But at least the disk and drivers still remained right? Idk why TT think that completely replace existing disk for "better" version is a good decision beside making money, cus that just mean that they will be better and over-creep all previous weight disks. Same to the drivers too, like come on, DB/BU literally full of dash or metal Drivers that exist to replace old ones and p much just forcing you to buy them too cus of their overly amazing performance. Example? The Lucifer bey lineups

Much more controversial take: Not only does X handle the burst gimmick much better than Burst (ironically enough), the battles are much more engaging than both Burst and MFB.

Its not that controversial when both MFB and Burst ended up with only Stamina-Defense combo dominate and left any Aggro play to very niche amount Albeit we are just first gen of X, but still TT: STOP MAKING STAMINA-DEFENSE TOO STABLE/CONSISTANT

I found MFB more engaging because they could be much slower and predictable. The attack battles were much slower than those in X, so you can readily follow paths and trajectories. The attacks look more meaningful compared to the way X beys just smash together. Even so, I cannot complain about X. The beys are still a little fugly because they’re in a state of infancy, but the series gimmick is absolutely valid and fun as heck.

Is this really a controversial take me and my best friend are extreme metal fight fans but we both skipped the entirety of burst we didn't even know each other until after burst had started so it's not like we had been influenced by each other either but me and him have found an absolute resurgence of the best parts of beyblade with the metal contact points the extreme gimmick and with it's inclusion of burst feeling much less heavy handed and forced as it was with the burst series as it was it's main gimmick where as x seems to be an attempt to adapt the best parts of each previous beyblade generation as well as introducing its own stuff with the teeth on bits and the Xtreme stadium gimmick

This might just be me, but I really don’t want evolutions in this generation, but they can still do variants with the Blades. They should expand more on the Gear system from DB where for each season there will be attachments for specific parts of the X system.

At least the Hasbro version of Burst layers (from Single Layer to God, that is.) are ok in longevity since they use slopes instead of teeth for the locking. Making some otherwise doodoo layers viable for competitive use. (Like Storm Sprizen).

Got excited when I heard that the gens next to burst is going to be metal blades like MFB, but when I see burst finishes in the trailer video I was like "WTH" initially. But seems that they handled it very well. I gotta applause that TT has changed the direction of the metagame from a boring stamina battles (don't mistake me, but stamina battles is waayyy too overused in later stages of burst) back to much more balanced battles like HMS and MFB has. I'm afraid that weight creep will still be present in future products, but hey, it doesn't seem to be likely anytime soon, just probably about 2-3 years from the debut. Also having spinstealers back would have been a good idea, just don't give them too much parts that compliment them to the point of being broken.

I mean it's only natural and little to no surprise that the first time they do a system it's pretty flawed and when they do it a second time it's better executed (unless it's Konami with some ygo archetypes). Sometimes a stumble needs to happen before true refinement could be done. Personally didn't want to see the burst gimmick again in favor of more in-depth customization but at least it's handled better.

Might be a controversial take, but X has the most boring looking battles out of any generation in my opinion. Just the speed, randomness and jumping around in the stadium makes it feel just like a chaotic mess of randomness that somehow ends in a victory for one of them. Slower matches overall just feel less random and more strategic (even though that feeling might not be correct), and the thrill of seeing an aggressive bey do some cool things is kind of lost when literally every match is like that.

Plastic gen set a good foundation, metal obviously added more weight and made it more interesting, burst added the amazing idea of a bey bursting and then X has improved the bursting mechanism and made it more interesting with the edge

X beys performance wise is definitely the most fun and better system than burst. It’s more if they can keep up with it bc burst suffered from a lot of powercreep really quickly Cho-Z onward and made the meta unfun. Designs for X feels too simple but I can see why bc it’s just starting. Though the system with the ratchet and bits at first glance feels it can’t be as creative as say burst or metal fight. But again we’ll see

Ok ama be honest Metal wears a lot (and also brakes there has been a lot of reports of metal shattering after small amounts of time. Idk if it was under literal day after day after day of battles with hard launching beys but it still happens to people that just play causally) Ratchets get beat up like crazy Locks inside the ratchets that hold the bit still wear like teeth And the tabs on blades that lock to the ratches are way WAYYY to thin to actually last long Burst had the problem of teeth wearing and how they handled burst resistance I just hope that at least tt fills in the blades more and adds proper support for the metal if they don't want to increase the weight of beys by adding more metal Ngl I just can't agree In all honesty if part wear could have been reduced in X by doing something like removing the Xtreme dash and staying with the normal stadium design that we had before and making launchers less powerful than i would aggre because the beys would 100 last 10 times longer

A lot of reports are a big outlier since majority cite Japan players who use the beys a lot more than the average person, you could cite JP twitter during burst era as a "lot of reports" that doesn't mean anything Ratchets getting beat up doesn't actually wear to how teeth affect burst beyblades X is the better designed system if we are going to cite outliers like that than majority of burst was still WAYYYYY worse, comp players had to buy many many copies, you can disagree I guess I can't change your perspective but you need to seriously research and have historic context

I feel like BEYBLADE X is abit better than burst bc the system for burst was new but the problems were the metal caps destroying teeth and some designs were amazing and some were uh too much gold (no hate for it) and using the same driver in different beys like variable, evolution,quake,accel,fusion and the rest that got uses a dash version or metal X on the other hand it’s more balanced it has metal from MFB which I like in general and has speed and power but BEYBLADE x and burst are still good series but performance it’s gotta be BEYBLADE x

It is unfortunate that burst had to be the most flawed because I'm kinda biased towards that series and i had alot of fun with it, but I think x being better is a very good thing. Instead of takara dumping the burst mechanism for x they took a chance to improve on it. Beyblade should keep improving and getting better especially in a generation where rebooted series are usually getting worse.

Well said. I agree. I do have problems with GT era. Especially with Slash Valkyrie. The first time you click the driver in, it is so hard to burst. But if you change the driver about 4-5 times. Or burst while playing. The slash layer will be weak as hell after that. The teeth are still okay on the gt chip. But the layer locking mechanism is becoming weak. If you look carefully, on the layer itself, have some bump to locked on with the driver. Thats is the dumbest system ever. Easy to worn down after 4-5 burst. Same with wizard layer.

I 100% agree with how much of a mess the Superking Layer System was. I still love the designs of most of the Beys from that season, but dear lord was it so unbalanced. Man, TT was cooking that season, but I'd be lying if I said everything they cooked was good. XO But really though, I would also be lying if I said X wasn't the most hype thing I've seen come out of Beyblade in a very long time. The return of fully metal contact points, the 'stadium gimmick' actually working and providing exciting gameplay, and the fact that none of the blades released so far are unusable really helps to establish X as a superior generation for not only competitive players, but also casual ones too. I still love Burst, even for how flawed it is, but goddamn when it was flawed, IT WAS FLAWED. I really hope X continues doing as well as it's doing, even if PhoenixWing is looking to be a real game changer. And the fact that we're only like 11-12 original beys in and it's so quality so far gives me very high hopes for this generation.

My only gripe is they made the defense layers lighter than the attack layers. While the Knightshield is able to compensate with its other attributes, the fact that defense lacks the one main thing that defines it is a problem

As a metal fight and X fan, i've always hated burst, due to its plastic wheels, super large/bulky designs, and IMO more boring gameplay and i was excited when it finally ended and i heard rumors that metal fight was coming back, but it turned out it was X. At first i didn't like X because it reminded me of burst and its stadium is very gimmicky in contrast with BB-10s, but eventually i started watching more X youtube content so i decided to get into it and now i have to say X is the best beyblade gen of all time but i like metal fights art direction more.

I just hope that they come out with a tip replacement pack for X. The wear on the tips is insane and durability overall is worse but durability has been an issue across the board. Every generation has had it's issues because that's the nature of how tops work. X's issues come from the higher speed and I've seen even blades break entirely. I personally like the burst system more but I'm exited to see where X goes and I'm just getting the releases that speak to me for it if that makes any sense. Leonclaw was the first one that I was like "THAT ONE! I WANT IT!" haha

A lot to unpack: Tip Packs: That would never ever happen, the only times they ever did packs was pre burst during mfb and maybe possibly did gen 1 was mini packs of parts, but the only other thing is burst in japan had driver campaigns but for what you are asking it won't happen. "I've seen even blades break entirely." Ignore when bits make contact with metal since it can happen but that is very rare, too many people look at JP posts and think that represents the whole or reddit posts that lack any context given. (Does it occur, yes very much so but how frequent? etc..) You should see the old SL/DL with the plastic shattering or cracked on all of those layers in design but something important, it is not just a part broke, it is how it broke. Burst Y1/Y2 was pretty poor for anyone getting into, the only difference is the internet wasn't as big as it is now, many many reports of WBO players having to constantly replace layers like valkyrie, minoboros, etc... very frequently this was a massively huge problem through those years. The comment I am not really sure how to read it but it feels like one point was focused on and not the rest of the context of what was said, I talk in great detail on the teeth failure beyond wear, as designs are limited by the restriction and hurts existing designs. If you like Burst you can like Burst but I feel odd to prefer the old system that is the worse design over the new just for what was said but to each their own! Please do not take any offensive I enjoy reading comments like this because it is a proper discussion

@@zankye Sorry, i should have given more context for some of this looking back on what I typed. The tips is just a "hope they do this" kind of thing. I know that it's a long shot and a half for that to be a thing I just wish it would. I do not know exactly what caused them to break but I have seen 2 wizard arrows break (one on the metal part and one on the underside where the ratchet attaches) and a dransword chewed up very bad from wear and tear but it's not technically broken it just looks messed up. Those are adult players and I know they don't do any stupid things to the beys with the goal of starting drama or anything. They just play a lot. The part where I said "Every generation has had it's issues because that's the nature of how tops work." I was meaning that every generation has some sort of durability issue. Since they're tops that spin at high speeds and are made of plastic and metal things are just bound to break at some point. And each generation has had some weird defect somewhere along the way. When I talk about how I like Burst's system more I just mean just the system itself. I know the teeth wear is going to Kill my TT stuff over time which is why I bought a lot of Hasbruh stuff in bulk and that's the main stuff I'll use when my TT stuff eventually dies. Slopes might suck but at least they will last much longer in theory. And you're all good you didn't offend me. I know some people don't take discussion too well and I get that. Either way there no offense taken and hopefully I didn't offend you in any way.

Ik this is old but was just randomly watching X for 1st time and it's Def better than the one before w that lame dark prince character. I still like the originals best. Remember they use to have huge stadium battles through out the whole arena, not just some dumb plastic small arena in an arena. There's no more awesome giant spirit animals of the bay fighting ne more and all that good stuff Is gone. I don't watch the show but still I Der remember the 1st couple gens were waay cooler.
