what is the difference between these and say some dt990 pros? which are better?

I'd say that the DT990's are better, but they're bigger too. Having said that, there might well be shared hardware between the two units and the TYGR 300R might be a repackage for all I know. It'd be an interesting question to ask Beyerdynamic :-)
