I just realised that Bey is controlling the tempo of the song in a way. The pianist is amazing and is listening to Bey and going with her pace every time she moves to the next verse in the beginning and then the guitar echoes her runs. Clever. Nothing about this performance is left as a chance sing song. this was well rehearsed
