i actually prefer act ii ! I’m from the south of the us so I hear a lot of country, so that’s probably why, but also the whole thing of beyoncé “taking back” musical genres that originated in the black community that have come to be associated with non-black groups is such a cool concept. This is especially bad in country as it is viewed as such a “white genre” here even though it began in black spaces. I think it’s awesome that she’s reclaiming it

In the next 60 years we will repeat this same process for R&B reclaiming it from K Pop and the dominant reign from Adel and Sam Smith 😣 mark my words 😮💨… we are currently fighting now not to lose HipHop/Rap to the Jack Harlows and Tom McDonalds .. cycle just keeps on repeating.

You inspired me to start collecting vinyls and getting into it and I thought about getting this limited edition vinyl but the missing tracks deterred me. Now that I’ve actually seen what you get I don’t think I’ll get it. I really hope they release the collector’s edition like they did with Renaissance. I recently bought that and it’s so beautiful.

Yeah the collectors edition is stunning, I didn’t even notice the missing tracks until after I filmed the video! Im going to keep it cause it is limited edition but tbh it’s not my favourite and a lot of money for a vinyl that doesn’t have the full album!

Sis I feel bad for telling you to buy the vinyl as soon as they were announced. I NEVER expected Beyonce to play us w/these vinyls. I purchased the limited edition renaissance vinyl which has a beautiful cover & I loved the concept of an alternate cover so I expected this one to be different in that way but Beyonce literally scrapped the old album title "Beyince" and changed it to Cowboy Carter but the vinyls were already pressed that's why they're missing 5 songs & don't say Cowboy Carter anywhere on there not even the spine. The QR code takes you to a tracklist but not all those songs are on the vinyl which makes no sense. I'm still happy to have my blue vinyl in my collection because it IS limited edition however it's not what was advertised & I feel a little cheated. I hope we still get the collectors edition w/the standard cover though.

Omg don’t feel bad lol I would’ve bought it regardless 😂 it definitely was not advertised properly and considering u don’t get the full album is bad imo especially as this was over £40. I think the selling point was as it was marketed as limited edition, Yeah again after the video I only noticed it said “Beyince” which was confusing to me😭 it definitely felt like a rushed vinyl!

Another good review Meg. Consider seeing the contemporary music releases you obviously enjoy as a good entry point to a whole bunch of earlier artists in a range of genres (pop, rock, country, indie, punk etc)! Also it does make things a tad easier if a tracklist is actually printed on the album sleeve...!

Bouchet the same as you ! Love it. I would suggest you research the why it's a multiple act project and why they are different to one another...

I'm not typically into country but I feel like act ii was still my favourite. I think that Renaissance was good with the dance vibe which I feel was a bit different to what she would do (which is like pop and r&b with some trap) but still not as different as act ii. I feel as if this change in genre was something I could really admire and appreciate. I think that country is a genre which is often overshadowed in the mainstream so has been awesome to hear it. As a fan of alternative which is a genre that is appreciated but not as big as pop, I think that more people need to step out of their genres and explore. 😀

Yes I love that artists experiment with genres it keeps things fresh! I am not a big country fan but I can appreciate the album for what it is and it seemed like an important album to her! ⭐️

@@MeganWakefield Yeah, 40$ is insane for just the vinyl themselves .. I know that's what we buy them for but i was expecting a little more for the price.
