The blackbird part was really deep. The women standing with the books were enlightened because knowledge is power. To me it represented Beyoncé and the ladies featured on Blackbird knowing the history of country music originating from black people. They are now flying because they know the truth. In a time where we have laws being passed to ban books, classes, and cutting back on the education of our history, learning on your own is a rebellious act. We belong and always will. ✊🏾💡📖 “When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” - Maya Angelou Thank you Beyoncé for always teaching us something and always giving your platform so other voices can be amplified. Black bird flyyyyyy. ☺️🐦⬛🫶🏾✨

I love this era for Beyonce, much like Renaissance tour you could see her become more free on stage. In this performance you can see that same freedom but it also feels like she’s connecting back to her roots. The way she introduces Texas Hold ‘Em with that natural country accent she’s always had, it’s like she’s finally able to lean back into who she always was from the jump. “Used to say I spoke to country, and the rejection came said I ain’t country enough.” 😭🤠🫶🏾✨

I saw it live. I saw it on the replay. I've seen it on the NFL. I've seen it on the Netflix both before & after I rewatched Homecoming. I watched the Beyoncé Bowl, went for a walk, came back & watched it again before streaming Black Is King. I. Am. Here. For. This.

Who else puts a show like Beyoncé today? The perfect execution, the studied references to what came before, the generous projection on what’s next, the intentionality, the seamless transitions between the wide array of genres on the Cowboy Carter album… we are really witnessing pop history in the making. All of that while defying traditional standards of the music industry and inventing a new annual event with her Christmas Bowl. Only Beyoncé.
