Imagine saying a black women is culturally appropriating country music for singing one of _her_ songs in a genre that was literally _created_ by black people
@dopaminefiend61825 жыл бұрын
Country music wasn't created by Black people. The genre itself is heavily influenced by many other folk music genres, as well as other cultures' music. The banjo was an African instrument, but it isn't the conception of country music haha. 'Country' music exists all over the world, differing depending on culture and traditional instruments used. Country music isn't solely American country music, even in America it's was heavily influenced by folk music from multiple cultures and countries do to migration from Europe (Ireland and Germanic speaking countries for example) and forced 'migration' from countries in Africa and Asia too. In Thailand we have traditional country songs and instruments that have been used for centuries to make folk music :)

This is truly an iconic performance! This fits more into the country genre than most “country” songs out today. Most of the artists and viewers that didn’t care for it only didn’t like it because of the color of Beyoncé’s skin & because they don’t like that the Dixie Chicks didn’t & still are not afraid to speak up for what they believe in. I love all of the girls and this performance!
