It is humble, they were middle class then her dad quit his job and they were living in apartments.

Ft. house in a community of doctors and judges throughout most her childhood....humble by who's standards?...UNLESS you grew up like Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons' kids or Paris Hilton and the Kardashians perhaps which would even be more subjective. Otherwise by actual socioeconomic standards humble implies living check to check in a modest to low income community and housing...like perhaps working class and under. Her father later QUIT his job to help catapult Beyoncés dream of singing which sure, lead her mother to live with her and her sister in an apartment which was even for a short period.
