People be saying “wow if Beyoncé gets cheated on, then what hope do we have?” But that’s bull crap. The answer isn’t that Beyoncé wasn’t woman enough, it was that Jay-Z wasn’t man enough. The problem wasn’t with her, it was with him. The problem isn’t with you, it’s with your significant other. There is never an excuse to cheat.

Eh I did like the song and the concept behind it. But I mean I’m not talking about Beyoncé but relationships are both
@YourMajesty1434 жыл бұрын
There is no excuse for cheating, but we can't deny that Beyonce is a hard person to work with, let alone live with. She's type A personality and her biggest error (mentioned in this song) was thinking that being sexy/pretty was supposed to be enough, when relationships require far more work than that. Jay-Z clued us in when he rapped about her at the age of 23 being far more absorbed in her career than in him. There were also clues with the way she treated her girl group members, and how she overworks her staff. She can be a bit of a dictator, sweet on the outside, but undermining you at the same time. Beyonce relied too much on the surface, focusing her value on her beauty, sex appeal, and her talent. Jay-Z probably hungered for someone with substance and a bit more refined in class (less ass shaking and hip grinding), which is why the woman he cheated with is known for her smarts and elegance. Ultimately, Jay-Z was wrong for cheating, but I can absolutely see why someone like Beyonce could get cheated on. Our perception of her perfection is intentionally curated by her. Her manufactured brand image can mislead us to believe she's perfect, but truth is we don't know what happens behind closed doors. We only know she tends to get possessive, jealous, insecure, controlling, overbearing, etc. Her husband should've divorced her, and gave them both the peace they needed. Beyonce is too invested in their brand of "black royalty" to break up, so he should've been the one to end it. Now bc of his weakness, they're both trapped in the brand & empire that they (mostly she) built.

I came back to watch this years later, and I can’t believe that I didn’t realize back then that Lemonade is like an art show/movie. This “segment” of lemonade is showing how being cheated on can drive you crazy. Beyonce is smiling while she destroys everything in her path. She’s truly lost her mind lol. The opening monologue is her expressing her desperation of not be cheated on. Her words were so dramatic, because that’s exactly how it feels when you’re in love with someone, and then you find out that your partner has been unfaithful or lied to you. It’s said that being in love is a chemical imbalance after all. I feel like I need to watch lemonade again. I wonder what else I missed.

She took a massive risk by doing something completely out of her comfort zone, considering she's known to be an RnB artist. She's a hard working female artist and is a flawless performer. Her lemonade album is probably the best album that has ever been released. Watch Lemonade in full...trust me. "Daddy Lesson" (country), "Don't Hurt Yourself" (Rock), "All Night" (Alternative), "Sandcastle"/"Pray You Catch Me" (ballad). It's a mixture of genres. People complain that Beyonce is boring and does the same thing all the time. Lol if only haters knew. Appreciate art and get over yourselves. I understand the concept behind asking: “How could someone cheat on Beyoncé?” But how many good women, like her, get mistreated and taken for granted? You’ll never be pretty enough, tall enough, kind enough, compassionate enough, smart enough, sexy enough for someone to do you wrong when THEY choose to. Update: Just seen this tweet from 2 years ago acquired 6.2 likes - I see you all 😊

How easy it is when you have everything you want in a woman to want just a little more. It's a fight that I think everyone with their dream woman has, I know I had it, and it led me down a path I shouldn't have gone down. I imagine the man loses the fight when the relationship takes a sour turn, we broke up a few months later, completely unrelated, she never knew.

Is never the fault of the person who gets cheated, is always the choice of the person who cheats. And men cheat because, as much as they claim to respect and love us, deep down they don't really see us as fully human. They either sanctify our qualities (i cheat because i dont feel good enough for you) or demonize our flaws (i cheat because you're not good enough for me). i would say anyone who isnt reciprocal is a potential cheater... But specifically the men who dont care about your sexual, emotional, intelectual and financial needs once theirs are covered. Men who just give you time and affection when they want something from you, and ignore you once they get what they want.

After being cheated on, I finally understand the symbolism at the beginning of the video. Bear in mind the Lemonade epic was full of spoken word artsy stuff…but that first bit of Beyonce in water is like her holding everything in. It’s like inhaling and attempting to be different for the sake of appearing sane, nice and okay. When she opens the doors it’s like she finally says “fuck it” I’d rather be crazy than jealous and so she lets all the “water” go and starts bashing up the whole darn town 😂 I know it may look obvious but you literally feel like you’re holding your breath/tongue when you know smn aint right and so I understood the opening of the doors and letting the water escape…. “You either say nothing and let it fuck you up, or say something and fuck it up yourself”
