Revisiting this from 2023, looks like I was living under a rock then. Great interview, these guys knew what's in store with gpt 3 and 4.

Metacognition88 Maybe possible they selling that riding open-ai , Agi is not well defined cause it’s not a be or and. I do like their goals translated by open-ai and fueled by agi. Further more for what they say and want might pin the idea to define agi to reality without over achieving speech. But can they ripen the vision without getting lost with common a.i

yah, like when the CTO said computing power is growing 5x faster than moore's law, when gordon moore himself said that moore's law is ending, and he said that about 10 years ago. It's not exponential, it's logarithmic and approaching a horizontal asymptote due to the fact that you need to make transistors at least as large as a few atoms so that they can physically exist

One reason for choosing Microsoft could be that their technology uses reconfigurable hardware (FPGAs) which allows new algorithms to be tried/deployed quickly in the cloud unlike others who use special purpose hardware (ASICs) to accelerate most commonly used algorithms. Because openAI is creating/trying new algorithms, it would be difficult to realize their benefit quickly if they had to be deployed on fixed hardware designed for old algorithms, creating new hardware optimized for new algorithms takes very long time.

Long time no needed. First time you are in the clutches. All time.. Alternatives and escapes are only in your dream and those will be checked also, don't worry, you're a great great granddaughter will keep her skirt down and her teeth well brushed.

The tough nut to crack is the cross-domain integration problem. Instead of trying to boil the ocean they should start with 2 different domains to cross integrate with each other and produce shared knowledge resources and to have each of the domains self determine each of their strengths and weaknesses and recognize the others strengths and weaknesses so that they can self determine when and how to share knowledge. Once 2 domains work well together add a third and integrate and add more as they become proficient.

It stinks like BS in here, Softbank, you there? Can you please stop flooding the value with this self-claimed chit-chat, let's be real, do we want these guys to be the fathers of AI? We probably don't want the paintings of anyone that just buys the brushes, why would we want that for AI? Can others try now?
