I am seeing PETRA for the 10th time live next month. My first ever encounter was someone playing the cassette of "not of this world" during a mission trip. The song was "not by sight". I have been a fan ever since Favorite song is "sight unseen". Bob Hartman's guitar intro on that song melts brains.

My favorite Christian band. They don’t get enough credit for the incredibly huge catalog of songs the band compiled over the years.

I grew up listening to Petra. I didn't know that there was such thing as Christian rock until I was 10, and heard the Sanctified Oldies by Ron Perry. And about a year or two later, I heard of Newsboys, dc Talk, Big Tent Revival, Petra, Geoff Moore and the Distance. And I've heard of Third Day, Carman, Delirious, and I was hooked. Petra is my favorite Christian rock band. I've never had the privilege of seeing them in concert, but I do have several of their albums on CD. My two favorite albums of theirs are "Unseen Power" and their "No Doubt" album. Couple of special requests: 1. "Ready, Willing, And Able", from Petra: Unseen Power. 2. "Right Place", which is a heavy metal song from Petra: No Doubt. Both albums are totally awesome. They're, in fact, bangers. As a bonus, here's another request: "Our Turn Now", by Carman featuring Petra from Carman's album Addicted To Jesus.

While I grew up on Petra and still listen to them from time to time for nostalgia, I wonder why people keep suggesting the wussiest songs by this band for a KZbin channel that has a niche in hard metal… especially when there were harder songs on this album in particular… Bring on that song from Jekyll and Hyde where Petra redeemed themselves…

This video is part of a movie they did for the album. The driver has someone close to him (can't remember who exactly) who is dying and he's trying to help get extra money for his family.

Catchy, radio-friendly jam...I feel like this could have been on the soundtrack of any 80's John Hughes Brat Pack movie.....I just want to spit out dialogue such as: "Oh sexy giiiirrrlllllfriend!" and "Grandparents forgetting a birthday??? They live for that shit!" and "Do you always carry that much shit in your bag?" and "Not even close, BUD!" AND.......

Petra...was raised on them and am a huge fan! Love seeing you do a reaction to them. Missed the first week of school back in 92 to go to Petra concert, my first concert, seen them multiple times and met them a few as well. There are currently two versions of Petra touring at the moment "Classic Petra" which comprises their old lead singer (Greg Volz) up until 85, and then Petra with John Schlitt who has fronted them from 85 till today. There are some who feel the Greg Volz days were better, but their whole catalogue of music comprises a plethora of hits.

Smiley Rock. One of the first hard rock bands I got given (tapes) by the churchies I was hanging with. Many lunar cycles ago. Like over 30 years... I think. Even earlier... I went to heavier later, Sacrament, Mortification, and of course Vengeance, Tourniquet, Believer. Have you done any Mortification? Something from Scrolls of the Megilloth. (Eternal Lamentations maybe... Or Nocturnal... Extremely influential band.) Paramaecium are good too. Much heavier than Petra. But this is a Petra reaction so, This Means War by Petra is a good one, and an older one, It is Finished by the other singer.
