The Covid-19 pandemic underscored the critical importance of robust public health systems with a health workforce able to pivot and respond to critical events and challenges. This requires countries to invest in long-term national strategic plans to develop and maintain their workforces. The pandemic also highlighted the fragility of care policies and provision more broadly and the need for urgent investment in resilient care ecosystems. In this conversation moderated by Jane Sloane, Ankita Panda, Mark Cormack, and Ian Crettenden speak on critical issues related to care and health workforce planning, including a global roadmap for action on the care economy and approaches to health workforce planning through data capture and analysis, capability assessments, and technological innovation.
