Meghan Fitzgerald, one of the lead developers for second edition, once posted in a development blog a really cool tip for running Changeling. She gave each player a set of colored cards: red, yellow and green. This way they could express how comfortable they were with a given scene or theme, allowing the GM to have an easier time adjusting for their players. On a side note, each Court represents a different stage of grief, but the sad thing is that Acceptance is not present.

9:40 I tried (and failed) to start a changelling game once by sarting a Hunters campaing, that would end up with their failure at stopping a Fae from gaining access to their world; I would then move to a "D&D" campaing where, whenever a player mentions something that doesn't exist in that world, such as phones, computers etc, they will remember the word exist, but memories on what it means will escape, as if they were always just beyond reach... as the players gained interest in this problem, they would come to learn they are actually trapped in a world that not their own, and have to find a way back... to which they would return to their original world, but no longer humans, they would now be Fae. I hadn't planned out what to do after they returned. well, the group managed to self-party wipe by game 3. I did no more than 5 points of damage across the entire group, but they manage to, after killing the monster, turn on each other and kill the entire group, except for one guy, that was jailed for trespassing in military territory (not quite a military base, but military property anyway)... still, I think that if the group hadn't imploded, that would have being a great start for the Changelling campaing. I intended to have each arch last between 8 and 12 games, so they would reach the Changelling part by the end of the semester (we were still in high school back then... it was still 1st edition)

@@AwkwardGMCorbin hm, players trying to run lone types was exactly the reason I decided to start them as humans facing monsters they couldn't deal with by themselves so they would have to rely on a group, building up the relation with time so that when they eventually became Changelings, none of them decided o stray from the group... actually, i think my mistake was allowing one of the players, after persistent requests, to make a werewolf that didn't thought he had being cursed by the werewolf that attacked him 9a failed attempt at recruiting a werewolf on his firs transformation). Guess who wiped out the entire party after taking some 3 points of damage? yeah, never again, if the game is about humans, then it is about humans, not werewolves.

@@marcelosilveira2276 Werewolves in WoD are murder tanks. At my last larp shop that played VtM, I normally played a Changeling hedge runner trader. I hand drew items on index cards and handed them out as plot devices. At the time due to my work hours I always came to the shop on the last one or two hours of play. Honestly out of the two dozen players, half were a bunch of broke azz snobs that trash talk the D&D player that didn't game in the shop's basement.

This was a really nice rundown on the basics of character creation. I was drafted into a game on short notice, and I can't tell you how much I appreciated this lovely summary. Thank you! The only criticism I had was that the audio was very unpredictable in volume, and I had to keep turning my speakers up and down. ; ) Happy Gaming!

Yeah this was my old mic. In my newer videos I am a bit better. I’m trying to still get my volume up though. 😅

Thank you! I've been looking into a couple Chronicles of Darkness games, but reading through the books was so confusing for me. There's not much out there that I've found which is a distillation of the lore or rules, so this was v helpful!

This is my favorite line in the CofD, it's so intense and amazing! Although I prefer the 1e, I didn't like many of the changes they made in the 2e Thank you for your great job man! :)
