Our mother went back to work in the spring of my 13th birthday and I had to fix lunches all summer for my three younger brothers. At the beginning all I knew how to fix was hamburgers and sloppy joes. Now at 77, I have about four sloppy joe recipes I will fix one of at least once or twice a month and there are always left overs. Fortunately, my wife likes them too. I have been to Sloppy Joes Bar at least 5 times when in Key West, FL. His is one of my recipes, then I do one with a can of chili in it, one with Bold Manwich, and my most recent, sloppy Jose made similar to taco meat on a bun. I will now be trying this to add to my repertoire. (I always drain my beef before adding onion or garlic to avoid draining any of their flavor.) I have tried adding refried beans also and it wasn't bad. I love sloppy joes, but get tired of the same thing over and over.
