@Brian Moffett Oh Brian, calling anyone a freak is very classy of you! So what are your qualifications for not being a freak. You are one of the good ones, huh? My definition of a freak might be... let's see, a hater, a mean person, a person lacking empathy, or one who says he alone has the right answers. But still, calling someone that is not very nice. So, I won't refer to anyone in that way.

My heart goes out to Michael’s wife and children. They don’t deserve a selfish person as a husband and father. Does he really think his wife is just gonna sit there and play house with his mental illness. She wasted 20 years on this selfish man who only cares about his needs. If he really cared about his family he wouldn’t be putting them through this What’s even more disturbing is how much he’s being encouraged to destroy his entire family and their lives. It’s heartbreaking.

I think you have a valid point but also, it is important to express it in a more compassionate and open minded way. I do think that transition is likely the right solution for some people with very high level body dysmorphia (when therapy cannot assist them to accept their body) but I also agree that pushing the idea that people are "born in the wrong body" can be very dangerous as well. There was a BBC documentary of transition regret that demonstrated that. It's a complex and challenging issue and unfortunately it is being presented as very simple (right/wrong) by both sides of the political divide.

Problem comes when people aren't given enough counselling first, if any at all... theres a huge number of people with regrets who want to transition back, and a whole load of suicides. I wonder what these surgeons would say today, now that there are thousands of young people detransitioning? That statement at the end…..a journey where there is no turning back. @monicadaniels784
@monicadaniels784 2 жыл бұрын
Rebecca, have you been listening to Fox talking points again? The reality is that very few people detransition. Even fewer detransition for the reason that it wasn't right for them. More than likely, they do so because of the tremendous pressure they are put under by family, friends, job prospects, or those who constantly throw hateful comments at them. Consider your role in this. Is it not obvious that you are excited about people detransitioning because it satisfies your need to discount the validity of trans folks? Are you really acting as a force for good here or are you rooting for people you don't understand to fail? Make a choice, be a nice person. Have a nice evening.

@@monicadaniels784, you say that I’m excited about people detransitioning because it satisfies my need to discount the validity of trans folk. @@watermelonandcookie If I misread what you said, I'm sorry. There are many who will try to delegitimize trans folks by pointing to a few transitioners. Your statement about thousands of detransitioners sounded to me like that talking point from one of those people. They love to point to a few cases of detransition and say, "See it doesn't work for any trans people, this transition stuff." That is not to say that detransitioners shouldn't be heard, they should. When they extend their single experience to cover everyone, that is when I get upset. I would love it if everyone found what is right for them. I am in favor of safeguards so people don't make mistakes.I hope you understand that trans folks are under attack in multiple ways in this world. If I mistook you for an attacker I apologize.

@@monicadaniels784 thanks for your response. Detransitioning shouldn’t delegitimize transitioning in any way and I totally understand that transition works for many. @@watermelonandcookie Rebecca, thank you, your post helped bring me back to realizing I shouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly. The sad reality is I see a lot of negative commenters in my travels, and I can knee jerk react sometimes. I think there are a lot of people who are abused out there. Sometimes that can get confused with thoughts that one is really trans. That is very unfortunate and no one wishes for that. I do know there are some hostile people out there who want the detransition narrative amplified to try to delegitimize trans people as a whole. I hope that Michael/Michelle was able to keep his/her nuclear family intact. I’m glad that this documentary, clearly a few years or a decade old, is still available and being re-aired now. Though our society during those past years was certainly dealing with the issues of those days, I value the amicable and respectful language and reporting on this issue, and the generally kind and educational tone of this film. It’s a shame that public discourse on the subject has devolved into being far less civil. This is true of many important subjects of our time today. There are two choices a planetary society may make; choosing civilization, or barbarism. Mutual respect and kindness is a crucial bulwark in defending our wider civilization against barbarism.

Chopping off one’s penis, and sewing up one’s vagina to obtain artificial structures which are neither a vagina or penis is barbaric. The term woman or man is now based on a stereotype. The day that men can become pregnant I assume will be the time when biological men will be want to be known as “barefoot and pregnant’ which would affirm their female gender. This shit is insane.

Thank you to all those that participated in the documentary. The extent to which these men and women go to “become” male or female is great. I couldn’t imagine 🤯. To see some of the scarring that is left after these surgeries is crazy. I understand why the surgeries are wanted and needed but doesn’t all the scarring mess with their heads? I have a dear friend that transitioned from female to male just a few years ago. He has only had the top surgery and his scarring is so minimal in appearance in only 3 years and you really really have to look close to see it. I couldn’t imagine the bottom surgery. I know how it feels to give birth and how the “bottom” feels afterwards and these surgeries are way more extensive. Makes me hurt just thinking about it. God Bless and be safe 💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️

The scars do take years to fade, and are extensive. Yet I don’t have any female to male trans friends that haven’t been thrilled, even quite soon after surgery. Hopefully there will be a way to minimize scars further in the future! Bottom surgeries are very complex and some patients have complications. If healing is compromised it can be very dangerous, threatening the surgical sites and making repairs difficult or impossible.

This is correct. People are who they say they are. Their bodies don't always agree. This is why conversion therapy doesn't work. Happy you agree with this. If you can't change genders, the reasonable thing is to adjust the body to fit the mind. Has anyone ever tried to tell you that your gender is wrong? If they did, I bet you would fight for who you see yourself as, know yourself to be. No? Come on!

I can only speak from my perspective but before I transitioned to male I was legitimately suicidal. I once broke down in my mum's arms, telling her I wanted to die and she knew I meant it. I was out to my family at that point but wasn't in a position to start any kind of physical change. I could see ahead of me the future I needed to have and the person I had to become, and it was just out of reach. The day I was told I could start testosterone, was a very defining moment in my life, as suddenly the person I had to be was no longer out of reach. I knew that bit by bit I would become him. I still had mental health issues (separate from me being trans) I was working through but I was no longer suicidal. I wanted to live. I loved the changes from testosterone but I knew that still having breasts was a great deal of distress. The day I woke up after surgery, and for them to be gone, was a welcome home present to my own body. As I am writing this comment I have been on testosterone for over 10 years and my breasts removed 10 years ago in July. I can look at myself in the mirror and smile and know I am now the person I needed to be and that all of this was worth it. I imagine some people may say I'm still a woman who is mutilated and they can have that opinion, I don't have any way of changing that and quite frankly I wouldn't care to try. But if my comment can help someone in any way, then I'll take the stupid comments too.

@monicadaniels784
@monicadaniels784 2 жыл бұрын
@@h.s.l6875 Well, good morning! I would like to speak to the misinformation you have stated here. First of all, yes, these groups are different in some important ways. They do have one thing in common, they are all groups who have been marginalized, belittled, and basically treated horribly by the majority. The reasoning for such abuse has always been based on either hateful stereotyping or lack of understanding or even the smallest desire to do so. Every member of the LGBT+ grouping needs one thing, a need to be genuine to themselves. I can think of nothing more cowardly than for some of that group to progress up the social ladder by stepping on others to do so. It is especially tragic if that effort is based on untruths. And so I get to your misinformation. You use the talking points of the group of people who would like nothing better than to see all LGBT+ gone from 'legitimate' society. Specifically you sound like you are saying that there is no such thing as a trans person below the age of 18. You make it sound like there are adults who get some perverse pleasure out of getting kids to be trans. This is totally ridiculous. I am trans and I know a ton of trans people. I no of zero of those people who would wish being trans on anyone, much less force them into it.. Do you think it is a picnic being trans? But what better way to vilify trans folks than by claiming we are abusing kids, 'grooming' them. The truth is, there are trans kids, kids who are absolutely miserable because they are forced into roles that don't suit them. Don't believe me, look at the figures on suicidal thoughts in this group. Now, kids are young, immature, and sometimes struggle with gender. The goal of treatment is to provide time for these kids to mature. These kids are given therapy, they are under doctors care. They are screened and the top priority is to give them time so that mistakes are not made. Part of that, only for some, is to be given puberty blockers to delay what to a truly trans child would be irreversible, horrifying changes to their bodies. Forcing them to go through the wrong puberty, that is truly child abuse. As a example, I have been lucky enough to afford thousands of needle sticks to my face because of such a puberty. That is just the beginning. No, the abusers here are those who soak up the right's talking points, buy into the lies about evil trans folks corrupting children and forcing laws that cause irreparable harm to trans kids. I have a friend in Texas who knows a young girl who just came out of a coma from a suicide attempt. Why did this happen? Because the governor of that state, cynically trying to get votes, pushes these anti trans laws that threatened her treatment and threatened to investigate her loving, supportive parents as child abusers. Fact, there are kids who truly are trans, even if you don't approve. As for procreation, this too is discussed in therapy. Besides being their choice, not everyone wants to or can have children. So, please, think about this issue, it is complex. It is not without much caution, being taken, expertise, and hard choices. Your blanket condemnation is a sign that you have not or care not to really think about the facts of the issue. Sympathy is feeling bad for someone else. Empathy is having such feelings by trying to understand where they are coming from. Meanness is not caring about the facts with intent to cause harm. Have a nice day, really!

I would've retired from the Army by now if I had not had continuous sexual harassment and fear of a 10 year prison sentence. Prior to Don't Ask Don't Tell, being Homosexual was a risk of sentencing for uo to ten years for military conduct. I was officer material. I turned down a National Security Clearance to overseer Muddle East positioning during Clinton administration. I was afraid if the personal risk. I knew US might be attacked orior to 911. But my Gender fear of prison preventee my from protecting my country. Right before 911, I was recruited by a scientific research organization of retired military intelligence. As a non-profit board member of a thunk tank l, I was free ti serve my nation without fear. Those of us who have served our nation in uniform and military industry, we are invisible and n the LGBTQI. We had to hide to serve. So, now it is such a relief the world us opening to understanding others gender, ethnicity, etc.

Pure destroying the creation of GOD, for what? - for a society that has turned INSANE?

Well, if you would be a little more sane, it would help! By the way, didn't God supposedly destroy everything with a flood? Are you also posting on Catholic videos to protest them protecting child abusers or are you just hating trans folks today? What about all those christian wars? Should you really be throwing stones? Kindness might be met with kindness. I don't like typing these things to you.

@@grlth ........ Towards mankind? - from who? - from freemasons - for some reasons that only makes sense to them, they want to be gods. Well, what`s stopping them? - they are missing creation of their own and since they cannot create, only copy, And that`s what they do - they copy from what`s already been created and calling it their own. The big creation of them, is : THE RECREATION OF MANKIND, known as A.I or human brain connected with the internet.

And that`s the biggest reason to warn people, about THEM STOPING OF BENG HUMANS. Even BIBLE states: BE WILLING TO DIE AS YOU CAME TO BE: DIE AS HUMAN, NOT AS A MACHINE.

@@luishumberto2118 Luis, I don't know any trans people who claim that their genetics change. They know that. The goal is to be happy as you say. The only way to get that is to adjust your life to match what your mind is. If you are trans, it doesn't go away. That is a reality. You can deny it, be miserable, try to do what others want you to do, or you can seek living as your genuine self and go for happiness. I sense you are a good person. I hope you can see this is what they are doing.
