For the people who are angry over the lack of story connections to the original so far, you have the right to be disappointed, but this is giving the creator of Beyond Good and Evil a chance to develop their universe. I think a world as interesting as the one this series proposes would be amazing with the level of world building this game will provide. I don't think they should have called it Beyond Good and Evil 2 as it is a prequel, but I'm sure this will set up for the next narrative chapter. Really sucks that there will be more wait for the continuation of Jade's story, but the approach they are taking for this game is allowing for the series creator to display the universe he has created around the original. From what I read, the creator had planned to make a trilogy because of how massive his universe was, so I am looking forward to this. tldr; Really does suck to wait longer for Jade's story for all the original fans, but this game has so much potential for the Beyond Good and Evil universe as a whole.

Perhaps to draw in a larger audience and make it more mainstream? :/ Cult following is awesome and all but it doesn't pay much for productions for continued funding towards that game and the team that works on it? They want something more people can enjoy and really rave about I guess? Or trying to help new comers warm up to the experience, many people wouldn't be willing to go back to such an old game on an older console just to play a game, unfortunately.
