Beyond Psychic Causality

In this lecture Dr Evgenii Timofeev discusses the key logical stages involved in the formation of the psyche. In particular, mirror stage, Oedipus complex and formation of subjectivity in Lacanian key.
After that, an overview of the processes beyond this causation is given. Inner transformation that follows from the training of body, energy and mind from basic to highly advanced stages in accordance with classic Buddhist understanding is discussed.
Development of morality, sense restraint, and contentment, which leads to the four foundations of mindfulness. Training in attentiveness, ten virtues, calm abiding, absorption of the mind into jhana, development of discernment follows. The fruits of such practice start to arise as direct knowledge of interdependent causality and knowledge of transcending other-based self.
Higher attainments, such as siddhi, knowledge of ending of the affluents and unbinding are discussed as well.
