Morpeko vs Clodsire i think you need to be throwing Aura Wheel when its dark type to buff your attack and then the Psychic fangs when you are in electric...with shields ive seen it beat clodsires....throwing only the Psychic fangs wont get you anywhere

I did see a headline suggesting Seed bomb for coverage. But I think you're underestimating the power of Psychic Fangs' -1 Defense. It makes all further damage 25% higher going forward. That will basically force the opponent to switch even if they wipe Morpeko in a completely one-sided battle. Clodsire starting a battle at -1 defense has a 425 rating and goes 15-24-1, vs regularly at 518 24-14-2. (A +1 attack adds +25% to all future attacks. It stacks up to +4 giving +100% attack. A -1 defense increases all damage taken by 1.25x.. Or basically HP is reduced by 20%. So effective stat product goes down by 20%.) I think that's the story of Ariados too-- If it can pile up buffs or debuffs, it can really shift battles. During psychic cups I ran into a couple of teams that had 3 pokemon with debuff moves. The strategy wasn't quite fully developed, but it was painful to try to counter. There may be some major shifts in strategy with the shorter switch timer and the more widespread 100% buff/debuff moves being widely available.

I am actually very excited with Morpeko. Not as much for the Pokemon itself, but because it introduces a new mechanic in a game that seemed a bit stale. Morpeko is actually a very good test for that mechanic, because it is a very mid contender. The fun one will be Mimikyu: Ghost and Fairy pokemon that changes forms from Disguised Form to Busted Form when it takes a hit. In the MSG, the form change acts as a form of shield: The hit actually does zero damage. It could be very fun to see how they introduce it. Plus it is a very cool typing, with only two weaknesses, three double resistances (bug, normal, dragon) and one triple resistance (bug). That one will be fun!

I know you say never bait, but I feel like sometimes it could be better to use psychic fangs to swap types before launching aura wheel.

He doesn't necessarily say that, he says HE never baits. Of course during the video he'll tell someone they should've baited when they absolutely should've baited, and to always at least fake the full energy move. Nobody can simply *never * bait, especially late and down 0 shields to 1.

@@bobbyrdayton9866 Well there's what he said and then the original post, which wasn't for reasons people typically bait. He says that as the fastest way to switch forms. I used to be a never bait guy, back when I always ran Pelipper and mirror opponents seemed to do it for fun which gave me a lot of success with Hurricane, but taking those shields is just too important to pass up.

I've got pretty lucky in remix this week with Morpeko. Several times I've had a sweep because of electric vs Azumarill and Greninja and instant switch to dark for a ghost.

Morpek is insanely fun. The trickiness and finesse required sometimes is satisfying. I use it as a safe swap although most of the time it's just a sacrifice that takes a shield and/or debuffs. Sometimes though, it just straight up ruins the backline and it's like a little bully.

There's a reason why Morpeko is ranked outside the top 100 in GL. I have to say tho, its really fun one-shotting Clodsire with Aura Wheel 😂

@@Kassul42 I usually rejoice when I see it but not during the end game which I think makes it a true pvpoke closer. But when opponents switch to it I shred it. And if they actually open with it I do things to it that should probably get me arrested.

In regards to losing turns during Morpeko’s form change, you might need to be tapping during the change form for those fast attacks to register, not sure

You needed to being going with aura wheel a lot more often. That's where this Mon excels. Aura wheel is a complete nuke that erases Mon's even in neutral situations.

Hey Dan, someone was telling me that the 4* morpeko (which I have) is better with seed bomb because of the attack stat it is able to reach. What would you think about this? And if it makes sense then what other 2 pokemon do you think would do with it in the open great league?

I had more success with it in the back, but it’s really a thing where you gotta find the right team around it. I played it a lot like I used to with Lokix, just let big boys in the front take a lot of damage and then come in with Lokix/Peko with two shields and try to take over. I’ll get more handy with it, but I really dig playing with it.

Morpeko is broken. It does super effective damage and gets my Hypno to 20% health with it's first aura wheel. First aura wheel is supposed to be an electric attack.

Why do u keep giving very bad advice about psychic fangs? Just cause u still haven't learned too use it doesn't mean its bad ... Dropping there defense allows for so much more damage...just use it the right way 22:49 see, u know how too use it so your just telling people its bad for no reason, cool 😞 not really bro
