Whenever you go to rio, dont say you are a tourist or foreign to people. At the beginning they will treat you very nice, but for services like taxi, they charge an extra fee, so it becomes more expensier. And try to avoid walking on streets with your smartphone in your hand. Unfortunately, Brazil still have this issue about marginalizing favelas, so its pretty common to see these "kids" in any touristic places. It's something that will take decades to fix, but anyway it's still worth to see some natural places.

Legally Palestine isn't a country. I have nothing against it but there are lots of legal issues regarding the naming of the area. Gaza and the West Bank bank are seperate in addition to that. Right now the West Bank isn't given any official name and it's "disputed".
