My band teacher told us that this song is based on the fall of the Roman Empire. 0:00 is supposed to be them living in peace 0:48 is the Barbarians coming 1:17 is the Barbarians attacking the city 1:55 is the Romans planning on how they will fight the Barbarians 2:26 is the battle (with the lower saxophone melody as the Barbarians and the trumpets as the Romans) 2:50 are the Romans losing the battle thinking back to earlier that day when they had an empire 3:09 The rest of the battle
