Yes, I could live that way. And we may have to live that way after my husband retires, but I am not going to worry about it. I am prepared to do whatever it takes. I know that God is in control and I will be ok.

Get one of those collapsable stools from TJMAX or Wally World, it has a cutout handle and weighs nothing, take it with you into shower to hold clothes and sit on to change. It works great.

We tent camped there many years ago when our kids were small and a tornado came right through the park. A microburst flattened our dome tent with all of us sleeping in it. I was lying on my back basically bench pressing the roof to keep my kids from being squished, I've never felt that kind of power in the wind. As quickly as we could get out we all ran to the concrete restrooms where all the other campers had gathered, it was scary stuff! Later when the storm had passed and it got daylight we noticed our bicycles parked on kickstands a few feet from the tent weren't even knocked over, the wind was vertical and didn't blow them over even though it had to be close to 100 mph!

Kellie - you are a cheese shredding master. I used to be a mechanical engineer that designed custom automation for all sorts of companies. One large project I did was for a cheese processing plant in Wisconsin. In order to shred, slice, dice the cheese, they put a powder on the cheese - not sure exactly what it is, but all cheese manufacturers do it - so it doesn't gum up the equipment that is processing it or make the cheese stick together in the packaging. But it gives the cheese a different feel/taste vs. shredding it yourself. I always like shredding my own but it is a lot of work! And that is is the comfort of my own house - not camping out in a tent! You go girl!!!

Watching Kellie grating the cheese made me go back to that method. It is actually a good workout! I had fallen into the shredded cheese in the bag routine. It does have extra ingredients to make it stay apart.

You need some powdered lime & lemon. You get them at Walmart by the Sugar. They come in a box of individual packets. They really have a punch. 1 pkt equals about 1tsp juice. You can sprinkle them in dishes and get a really good flavor. They are fabulous. Real Lemon and Real Lime I think are the names. Handy dandy when camping and it is hard to keep a ton a fresh veges & fruit.

So blessed they share😇 She has taught me so much about cooking out & about 😋& Cody has enlightened me on so many aspects of this life style I wouldn't even have thought about while floor planning a build. My brother has 60 acres of forest in Georgia. Welcome back to Arkansas and the crazy weather patterns that happen every day!! Lake De Gray is a gorgeous place to camp and Iron Springs is a great base camp for other adventures. We are leaving tomorrow for another campsite on De Gray. The campsites are much closer to the water and easier to launch kayaks that where you are. There are a LOT of campsites around the lake and they are all fabulous. It is close to a lot of amenities yet far enough away to be away from city life. Great video and I always enjoy your Arkansas adventures the most. Looking forward to the mountain bike adventures next week!!!! Great video, thanks for sharing.

That problem with the water pooling on the awning, take a treaded pvc pipe with two rubber washers, make a hole in the center of the awning insert a grommet the same size as the pipe and tread the pipe through the hole and drain it away from the area. My friend treaded a permanent 1 inch piece of tubing where he can attach a hose and use it as a drain.

I can understand how proud you are of your state of Arkansas, Cody. I get the same way about mine - Wisconsin. It's a good way to feel. The state park you were at was very nice. I enjoyed the tour you gave of the different campsites. I liked #17 also. I have a list of all the state parks I camp at and my favorite sites. Very handy when it comes time to make a reservation. Yes Kellie, as a camper, I've dropped my clothes on the wet floor when in the shower building. Yuk, soaking wet clothes. I like your big tent. It's nice to have when the weather's wet and you have to be inside. Your tent setup with the cots and heater always looks cozy. We'll be looking for your next video and the mountain bike trail!

Hi Cody and Kellile I do enjoy that you are taking the road less traveled. I suggested two other designs that fit a little bit further on the comfort spectrum than your Dome, especially if you move more toward a four seasons adventure. (Stout 16' Bell Tent, and the Camping Yurt from Oregon. I have a Kelty Wind River that I've used for car camping for 20 years. It has three 22" long sprung poles in sleeves plus a fourth pole that supports a vestebule. It looks to be smaller than yours, but has seen me through two feet of snow and all kinds of thunder storms. I'd rate it as a 3 plus season tent, but definitely not a mountaineering tent. With all the times I've set it up-- sometimes at night-- it always seems to be a chore. Your dome tent looks like a faster set up and nicer interior but more like a 2 plus seasons deal? My Bell Tent is a winter tent as long as you are hardy, and stoke the fire at night if its below zero. You can heat and cook with propane inside, set up a composting toilet, Queen size bed, even a small work station. But insulate it as if it were a yurt! The Camping Yurt is interesting because it was designed for camping first. Quality build, excellent ventilation, marine canvass walls, inexpensive, rapid set up. Add Arctic insulation, stove, entry vestibule, and an insulated floor it could weather almost any climate as a fixed location home.
