A killer set up is the TP1 black with a tournament pro reel. Its my favorite set up. If you want a long caster the bb1.

Glad to see you are still having a great time.. my buddy's boat broke down late last year and we haven't had time or good weather to fix it... )And he has a 3yr old 😉) Your Potomac trips are killing me.. I want out there! I'm hoping to break out the kayak and get back on the water soon. Let me know if you are looking for a net man some weekend.. Between research,reviews, and your videos I'm about ready to sale all my reels and replace them with lews definately like the crush just wish they had more gear ratio options. I like to stay with one style of reel.

6:59 have that exact same setup! The TP1 paired with a Lews custom speed Spool. It’s my Jig setup

Nice! It would definitely work for jigs...i tend to throw jigs on hvy rods...just how i roll....custom has been my favorite reel until i got the hypermag

Same here. I have not lost a guide or popped an eye, and I am not easy with the gear. The only rod that i have wasted money on an extended warranty. Love Lews rods, mine are paired with Doyo reels from a friend in Korea.

Hey Lou! I bought the HP rods from your video and paired them with a ABU reels. Have several Lew's rods and reels in the crappie series though. Hope to get to pull some big mouths this year. Keep up the great videos!!

The tp1 rod is lighter than the regular tp1. It is more sensitive as well. It has the sensitivity ring that really helps. My favorite rod

Hey Lou, I'm looking to fish rocky gorge from the bank. I've never been there before. Is there dedicated fish spots? I've been looking on a map and it looks like there are a few open areas you can drive up and walk too by road I just don't wanna find out I'm not suppose to be somewhere the hard way. Thanks Man

@@randysmith345 Randy is right, I only use lews, thus I'm only going to recommend lews based on my experience, not based on payment, but experience. I have a duckett rod review coming up on the horizon. I highly recommend duckett rods. Their blanks are great, but the guides need strength. Despite that I highly recommend them too.

13 omen black in 7' variety medium heavy, moderate action. The best overall kind of rod for any fishing in my opinion. Use em for catfishing, pike, bass, etc. Bass mojo is a solid cheaper rod too!

What is difference and advantages of the length of the handles on the rods? Not the overall length of the rod.

Really all preference. But longer ones can be easily rested on your side while shorter ones are better for sitting and for imparting action for things like jerk baits. Shorter is better for faster presentations like square bills
