Aquazone's always been one of those themes I don't see much of, but still absolutely love. Nice tribute done by these guys.

Came here to say the same thing. Maybe I was just the right age when it came out (11 yrs old), but it captured my imagination like no other theme has done since.

Was my favorite themed sets after the space ones when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I was only able to get a couple of them, mainly the small ones. Family didn't see the point in Legos, and preferred I spent my time after homework until tike for bed doing chores.

Oh. My. God. This takes me back. The Aquazone sets were some of my first sets. I still remember the Christmas morning I got them. Man this takes me back. Definitely one of my favorite Lego series

Probably one of the best collaborative builds I've ever seen with an underwater theme. All the stories of the different factions and the aquatic life that rolls with the squads

What a nostalgia trip... I had completely forgotten about these, randomly saw this video in my recommended (don't really watch Lego videos), googled Lego Aquazone and immediately found the ones I used to play with for hours as a kid. The lab set was so cool and perfect for my imagination back then.

My favorite part about this is the way it combines old gimmicks; The alien fiber optics, the mars transport tubes, the crystal magnets, the old conveyor belts, and a serendipitous monorail. its all works so well together that its a shame they don't do a lot of this anymore.

The underwater theme is so cool, wish Lego would always have themes like this along with space, castle, pirates, what have you.

This is awesome! I appreciate that LEGO still produces some underwater sets in the City line, but they really should bring back some of these more fantastical underwater themes like Aquazone.

I love Aquanaughts sets because they had some of the coolest and most unique window/glass creations Lego ever came out with. Plus the arms were SO cool to pose, I had a few of the small sets and two of the medium sets, and the large sub. Loved those sets.

Omg. This is awesome. Aquazone was one of my favorite themes growing up. Collecting all the minifigs and crystals, I had dozens of crystals by the end of the theme. Then came the Aquaraiders, Hydronauts and Stingrays with the green chrome crystals. *sigh* good times. Good times. Also it's nice to finally see an awesome layout that ISN'T Star Wars.

1:22, but my imagining Command: Aquasharks, incoming! Scramble and get out there! Comm-Link: Yeah, I'm a little busy with these sharks right now! Comm-Link: The tunnels flooded, we can't reach our Mechs! Robo-Pilot: I'm already out here, I'll hold them off! Just get moving! Battle ensues, Naut-Mech manages to take out the Shark-Mechs, but is heavily damaged. Robo-Pilot: Hey, you guys ready? *sees oncoming wave of Aqua-Shark reinforcements* Caaaause I might need some backup.

I have ONE set from the late (yellow + black + dark-trans-green) Aquanauts. My parents gifted it to me for chrismas when I still was a child. And I did no like it back then because they where wasting so much money on a set that did not fit with anything else I have (pirates, firetruck and UFOs). I still do not like the set, but I do like to see this whole Aquazone Sealab. It is nice, when you expand on a theme and add your own modells in a way that an onlooker could not tell what is original and what is MOC. It's a cool colaboration on display here. Great job!

It was just a little easter egg. I had originally wanted to build the 007 lotus submarine, but ran out of time after completing 2 other builds in the dio. So right before leaving for the airport i grabbed the little sub fins i made and stuck on the lamborghini set as a joke.
@collisw83022 жыл бұрын
@@Ripplenator I believe that was a Lotus Esprit, but now that you mention it, it looks super similar to the car in the video. I assumed it was a Lamborghini Countach from the recent Speed Champs set.

What's the name of the guy that built the big sub? I really want to check out that build in detail!
@madLEGOman132 жыл бұрын
There were at least 5 really big subs in the dio, but if you mean the the yellow one with the UFO fiber optic lights and motorized props (that Zach took a piece of the roof off to show the interior in this video), that was Brendan Mauro’s. However I am not sure if he has posted pics yet. Most of us were still completing our builds right up until BrickCon, and hadn’t taken photos of our builds yet. Plus we were also kinda saving the builds for BrickCon itself. If you want to see more, Andrew Lee made some great videos on his Bricks & Beer channel documenting how this massive Collab came together
